Her ecological experience <br />includes natural resource monitoring, pine rockland assessment, listed species surveys, acoustic recording analysis, wetland delineation, wetland <br />functional assessments, tree surveys, exotic plant control and vegetative planning and planting. Ms. de Vringer has experience applying geographic <br />analysis and technologies for GPS data conversion, processing high resolution imagery for analysis and basemap creation, natural resource <br />management, vegetative planning and monitoring, evaluating habitat suitability of threatened and endangered species, remote sensing, and <br />creating/managing geodatabases. Ms. de Vringer has experience conducting Phase I and II ESAs and routinely prepares applications for <br />environmental permits to the USACE, SFWMD, FDEP and Miami-Dade County. Throughout the permitting process Ms. de Vringer coordinates with <br />regulatory personnel to address questions and aid in moving the process along as expeditiously as possible. <br />19. RELEVANT PROJECTS <br />a. <br />1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) Vizcaya South Canal Restoration, Miami, Miami-Dade County, FL 2) YEAR COMPLETED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 2018-Ongoing CONSTRUCTION (If applicable) N/A <br />(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm Smart-Sciences is providing environmental permitting services and contractor bidding coordination to the restoration of Vizcaya Museum and <br />Gardens’ South Canal. To restore historic hydrologic conditions and enhance habitat for wildlife within the South Canal, dredging of <br />approximately 1,100 cubic yards of accumulated sediment and trimming of mangroves is needed. Smart-Sciences is obtaining relevant permits <br />from the USACE and Miami-Dade County to perform the dredging and mangrove trimming. Smart-Sciences prepared a bids package and <br />obtained two bids from subcontractors. During coordination with subcontractors it was deemed desirable to analyze sediment prior to dredging <br />for heavy metal content. Smart-Sciences prepared a Sediment Sampling Plan for review by Miami-Dade County Pollution Remediation Section. <br />Ms. de Vringer coordinated with subcontractors at the Site and prepared the Sediment Sampling Plan. Ms. de Vringer conducted sediment <br />sampling prior to dredging activities and prepared a technical report. The project is ongoing. <br />b. <br />1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) NW 102nd Avenue Roadway Improvements, Hialeah, Miami-Dade County, FL 2) YEAR COMPLETED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 2019 - Ongoing CONSTRUCTION (If applicable) N/A <br />(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm Smart-Sciences is providing environmental permitting services and contamination assessment services to the portion of NW 102nd Avenue <br />between NW 162nd Street and NW 170th Street within the City of Hialeah proposed for roadway improvements as part of the Countyline Corporate <br />Park development. Smart-Sciences prepared and submitted permit application packages with regulatory agencies. Ms. de Vringer conducted a <br />wetland assessment to evaluate the acreage of the wetlands that exist within the proposed roadway footprint and a wildlife assessment to <br />identify potential protected wildlife species using the corridor, as well as preparing the permit application packages and coordinating with the <br />regulatory agencies. In addition, Smart-Sciences conducted a Phase I ESA identifying contamination issues of concern along the corridor. Ms. <br />De Vringer conducted the online file review and prepared the Phase I ESA report. The primary concern found was adjacent landfill sites. Ms. <br />De Vringer prepared a groundwater sampling plan and coordinated with Miami-Dade County Pollution Remediation Section for approval. The <br />plan includes the installation of four groundwater monitoring wells to be sampled for ammonia, nitrates, sulfate, aluminum, iron, arsenic, and <br />total dissolved solids. Ms. de Vringer provided oversight of installation and conducted sampling of groundwater and soils, and subsequently <br />prepared a technical report for submittal to Miami-Dade County. <br /> <br />c. <br />1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) Little River Canal Bridge Replacement, Little Haiti, Miami-Dade County, FL 2) YEAR COMPLETED PROFESSIONAL SERVICES 2018 CONSTRUCTION (If applicable) N/A <br />(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm MDC Public Works Department is proposing a complete replacement of the bridge at North Miami Avenue over Little River Canal, including <br />roadway approaches. Smart-Sciences provided environmental services related to the project. Smart-Sciences performed an Ecological Due <br />Diligence to assess the project construction zone for presence of wetlands and trees that would require a removal/relocation permit, submerged <br />aquatic vegetation, as well as listed species habitat and use. Ms. de Vringer conducted the field investigation and evening pedestrian survey <br />using acoustic recording equipment to determine if the Florida bonneted bat (FBB) is utilizing the project zone for roosting and/or foraging. Ms. <br />de Vringer analyzed the acoustic data and prepared a technical report along with the figures in ArcGIS. No evidence of FBB usage of the project <br />zone was found.
