BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br /> <br />This design-build project consists of replacing the bridge currently spanning the Little River Canal along North <br />Miami Avenue, within Miami-Dade County Commission Districts 2 and 3, the City of Miami and the Village of <br />El Portal, with a new bridge that will improve pedestrian facilities. The existing bridge will be replaced entirely <br />with a new concrete bridge that provides 6’-0” wide raised concrete sidewalks on both sides while maintaining <br />two lanes of traffic in each direction. The bridge replacement will be implemented in two construction phases <br />to minimize disruptions to the traveling public and residents. The project also includes improving the approach <br />roadways by milling and resurfacing, providing drainage, lighting, pedestrian ramps north and south of the <br />bridge, dredging the Little River Canal and relocating an existing 8-inch water main. Construction is <br />anticipated to begin in the Spring of 2020. Contract: $55,053 (PI Fee). <br />25.
