BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)
On completion of the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science Maser Consulting P.A. was tasked with
providing the General Contractor a Final Survey. Included within the scope of work required to produce a final
survey for the project was a Topographic or Design Survey for the areas outside the property lines or within
the right of way of the adjacent public streets.
The main entrance is a high traffic intersection located on one
of Miami’s busiest corridors. The entrance is located at NE
11th Street and Biscayne Boulevard. At this location Biscayne
Boulevard is a divided highway of seven (7) lanes of traffic.
The center islands are fully landscaped with pedestrian
walkways, undulating paved paths and many aesthetic
improvements. Biscayne Boulevard is also known as SR
5/US-1 and is a state road under the domain of the Florida
Department of Transportation. North of the main entrance is
the State Road 836 East-West Expressway. The expressway
right of way which includes the entrance ramp going east is
the north boundary of the subject parcel.
All surveying services were performed in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the Florida Board of
Professional Surveyors and Mappers. The field work performed included a high definition 3D scan of the full
corridor beginning five-hundred (500) feet south of the NE 11th Street intersection continuing north, under the
836 East-West Expressway for approximately seven-hundred and fifty (750) feet. In support of the 3D scan
additional location surveying was performed to verify/reset right of way, horizontal/vertical control based on
the FDOT Right of Way Map for SR 5. GPS location surveying was also required to locate any above ground
appearances obscured or not visible to the scanner. Once the field work was complete and processed a Sketch
of Topographic Survey (Design Survey) was provided to the client in conjunction with the Final Survey
submittal. The survey was provided in hard copy prints signed and sealed, PDF and CAD format.
Cost: $135,735.00
25.
