MMSD took the initiative to launch a regional program to investigate and correct private
property sewer problems that contribute excess flows in wet weather to the municipal sewer systems. The project included
a range of services from investigating sources of private property infiltration and inflow (I/I), determining fixes, assisting
municipalities with developing local policies to managing their individual programs, and performing flow reduction analyses
that determine project benefits. The contract included services provided directly to MMSD that have regional benefits
as well as to municipalities who request assistance with developing and implementing their programs. Responsibilities
included gathering and analyzing funding data, meter maintenance data, homeowner review and public outreach data, case
studies, along with developing and writing an effectiveness evaluation on eight (8) projects for the final report.
F.
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)(2) YEAR COMPLETED
Private Property I/I Program – Basement Backup Risk Analysis,
Milwaukee, WI
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)
2017
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm
Project Engineer, H&H Modeling As part of the MMSD PP I/I Program, the purpose of this project was to evaluate the
existing basement backup information for all MMSD communities and provide recommendations and summarize findings in
a final report. Responsibilities included the collection and analysis of basement backup flow data for the 28 communities
within MMSD and provide a relevant overview of the statistical information relevant to the different review methods
utilized (Conceptual vs. Capacity-Flow Method), and subsequently performed life cycle cost analyses on the results. This
development involved extensive use of the FFS model, Excel, and ArcGIS. Additionally, developed various tables, graphs,
and ArcGIS figures to indicate findings along with statistically relevant trends and recommendations. Attended client
meetings and assisted with writing reports.
G.
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)(2) YEAR COMPLETED
Brookfield Post-Rehabilitation Analysis, Brookfield, WI PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)
2017
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE X Check if project performed with current firm
Project Engineer, H&H Modeling Prior to this project, a Sewer System Assessment Study was developed, that was required
by an Administrative Consent Order (ACO) by USEPA Region 5. The study recommended solutions to reduce Sanitary Sewer
Overflows to a once in 10-year frequency and included capacity improvements and I/I reduction on private property. The
City implemented the recommendations and requested flow monitoring/modeling in the post-rehab state to estimate the
amount of I/I reduction that was achieved in six previously monitored/modeled areas. Responsibilities included gathering
and analyzing pre- and post-rehab flow, rainfall, and maintenance data for the area. Utilized the HSPF Rainfall and CAPE
modeling programs to develop and calibrate I/I flow models for the monitoring locations. Summarized findings along with
comparison tables, graphs, and ArcGIS figures within final report.
H.
(1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State)(2) YEAR COMPLETED
OC TA Force Main Project 2, Orange County, FL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)
2016
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE X Check if project performed with current firm
Project Engineer Continuing services contract to establish a R/R program strategy for wastewater collection, water
distribution and reclaimed water infrastructure. Scope included evaluating the entire system and assisting the County to
develop a strategy to make key decisions about which assets to rehab/replace and when, and apply available funding to
meet system needs. Services included conditions, strategic planning and utility performance consulting, assessments,
evaluation, recommendations for improved processes and procedures, data management and tracking, R&R prioritization,
and preliminary design. Responsibilities included collecting and organizing county wide pipe networking data, created and
utilized ArcGIS maps and created comparison tables regarding pipe materials, sizing, locations, among others. Developed
report which pointed out the different areas throughout the County where pipe infrastructure had the lowest and highest
potential risks for degradation of the pipes integrity and provide strategies for R/R. Showed these locations through ArcGIS
maps, images, and tables throughout the report.
STANDARD FORM 330 (REV. 8/2016) PAGE 2
