e.
1-rI ^ AND LO
Vacant Parcel
Aventura, FL
YEAR COMPLETED
2015 f N/A
3 BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope, size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE ® Check if project performed with current firm
Project Manager. Phase II ESA reported that the suspected presence of a historical lumberyard, rail line and telephone pole storage
area at the site, resulted in the presence of impacted soil and groundwater. Site assessment efforts estimated the extent of soil and
groundwater impacts affected with arsenic, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Remedial/source removal efforts included the excavation and disposal of approximately 1,500 tons of arsenic impacted soils, and
groundwater was monitored to verify that the residual concentrations were stable. A background study found that groundwater
impacts were attributed to a sub -regional impact in the surrounding area. A Site-specific Health and Safety Plan (SS -HASP), dust
control plan, erosion control plan and soil management plan were prepared to assist the site development contractor with
requirements of working within an impcated site. Air monitoring was also conducted to assess for airborne contaminants within and
adjacent to the site. Groundwater monitoring has verified that groundwater impacts are stable and the site will be provided a "NFAC"
status as part of the site closure. The site will be redeveloped and returned to use after sitting idle for many years. Firm's Fee:
$200,000
STANDARD FORM 330 (REV. 8/2016) 49
