BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)
Terracon conducted a pre -demolition asbestos survey on the interior and exterior of the structures located at the Central
District Wastewater Treatment Plan (WWTP) located in Virginia Key, Miami, Florida. The plant was initially constructed in
1966, but it is unknown when the specific structures were constructed. The estimated square footage (SF) of the two
buildings surveyed is 1,400 (SF). The structures consisted of concrete block exterior walls, poured -in-place concrete walls
atop multiple concrete slabs and concrete ceiling.
Terracon's survey was conducted by an Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA)-accredited asbestos
inspector. Suspect asbestos -containing materials (ACM) samples were collected in general accordance with the sampling
protocols outlined in the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulation 40 CFR 763 (AHERA). Samples were delivered
to an accredited laboratory for analysis by Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM).
Terracon was tasked to sample all concrete materials located within the plant. Over 1,000 samples were collected,
photographed and mapped. The completion of the project took several weeks and near daily coordination with the client to
achieve the project objectives.
Firm's Fee: $64,492
(1) FIRM NAME
a. lterracon
25.
