BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br />Professional Engineer of Record and Project Manager for assessment and remediation of aviation fuel impacted area in the <br />Pompano Beach Airpark in Pompano Beach, Florida. Discharge of aviation fuel was caused by forced landing by personal <br />aircraft, which eventually grounded and collided against a fence. This collision caused damage to the aircraft wings, which <br />store the aviation fuel. <br />In response, Terracon conducted emergency soil screening of the plane crash area to assess the extent of the impacts to <br />soils beneath the aircraft, which was removed by the time of our mobilization. Based on the soil screening assessment, <br />surficial soils were outlined and proposed for source removal. Terracon provided oversight of the source removal activities, <br />under regulatory oversight, and conducted soil confirmation sampling. After completion of the excavation and backfilling <br />activities, Terracon installed one temporary shallow groundwater monitoring well to assess potential impacts to groundwater <br />from the plane crash.
