BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)

Coastal Systems was part of the planning and designed the
site/civil and marine structural improvements for the
redevelopment of Haulover Marine Center. The
redevelopment consists of a new marina facility with a
combination of temporary wet and dry slips, and 280 feet of
bulkhead. The dry storage building provides a total capacity
of approximately 560 dry slips. Additional facilities include
marina offices, store and service areas.

Coastal Systems provided site/civil design for the 10-acre site
including paving, grading and stormwater management,
parking lot design for 680 spaces, water and sanitary sewer
design, utility coordination with the City of North Miami Beach,
and construction administration services. A 12” water main
was designed to service the site and provide fire protection.
The drainage system was designed with exfiltration
trenchs for pre-treatment, the use of 4 existing drainage
wells and a new 48” outfall for overflow.

The marine structural design involved a new seawall and
dredging. A pile-supported concrete slab was designed
for the largest boat forklift at the time. Floating docks
were used for staging of the boats during launch and
retrieval.

Civil permits were obtained through Miami-Dade County
Parks and Recreation, North Miami Beach Water and
Sewer and Miami-Dade County Building Department.
25.
