BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)
Premiere Design Solutions, Inc (PDS) served as the prime consultant responsible for providing professional
engineering, surveying and permitting services to the Broward County Transit Department (BCTD) for ADA
improvements for transit facilities and new bus shelters at thousands of locations throughout Broward County,
Florida. PDS’s responsibilities for this project included preparation of surveys, site condition assessments,
geotechnical investigations, civil engineering design, structural engineering design, landscape design, electrical
and photometric design, permit preparation and processing, modification of permits acquired by the BCTD,
maintenance of traffic plans, utility relocations coordination and construction management.
The PDS professional staff designed over 1,000 bus stops including but not limited to bus stops, bus shelters, bus
bays, bike lanes, curb and gutter, landing pads, sidewalk connectors, new sidewalks, handicap ramps,
stormwater improvements and bus shelter pads. In addition, PDS prepared paving, grading and drainage plans to
depict proper stormwater conveyance and retention as per the proposed improvements. The utility coordination
for this project was very rigorous since many of the bus stops were located within high dense urban areas with
reduced right-of-way space. In order to accommodate the proposed improvements, PDS successfully relocated or
coordinated relocations of many utilities including potable water, wastewater, electrical, traffic, power,
telecommunications, and others.
63
