Steve served as
a staff geotechnical engineer during the preparation of
the Geotechnical Baseline Report (GBR) and Geotechnical
Data Report (GDR). Steve assisted in performing boring
laying, coordinating with utility companies to have all
utilities located and marked before drilling, supervised the
field exploration program (which included test borings,
rock coring and slug testing), performed visual soil/rock
classification, reduced laboratory test data, and helped
with report preparation.
City of Miami Beach Installation of 54-Inch Redundant
Force Main from Commerce Street to Pump Station No. 1;
Miami Beach, Florida
Project includes installation a 54-inch force main with
approximately 4,500 lineal feet requiring micro-tunneling
installation due to urban setting with numerous
underground utilities and near-surface silt/organic soils.
Steve served as a staff geotechnical engineer during the
preparation of the Geotechnical Baseline Report (GBR)
and Geotechnical Data Report (GDR). Duties
included coordination of field drilling activities, ordering
instruments from GEOKON or Slope Indicator, performing
utility clearance, coordinating subconsultants, and
preparing instrument postinstallation packages. Also,
Steve was responsible to review all drilled shaft logs for the
secant-pile walls that form the launch shaft.
Miami Beach Convention Center Renovation
Miami Beach, Florida
Project included a $400 million renovation to the existing
Miami Beach Convention Center. Steve served the role of
staff geotechnical engineer and assisted in performing
boring laying, coordinating with utility companies to have
all utilities located and marked before drilling, supervised
the field exploration program performed visual soil/rock
classification reduced laboratory test data, and helped with
report preparation. Additionally, Steve helped perform
geotechnical analyses for the proposed building addition,
roadway improvement, mast arms and culverts that are
part of the project.
