Ms. Buck has conducted biological monitoring on artificial reefs and nearshore hardbottom for <br />Town projects since 2006 (previous firm). She worked with USACE and FDEP to expedite the permit modification for the <br />Mid-Town groin project, which was submitted in December 2017 and constructed by May 2018. Ms. Buck also led <br />production of an EIS that included the Reach 8 project and is currently working with USACE to complete the ROD. <br />Senior Marine Biologist. Ms. Buck has led environmental aspects of several of the City's projects, including permitting <br />and biological monitoring of the 5th Renourishment project and permitting for sea grape trimming at a previous firm. She <br />is currently managing the permitting effort for the City's 6th Renourishment with ongoing agency coordination. She also <br />led a survey for ESA listed coral species along the offshore reef to facilitate Section 7 consultation. <br />Senior Marine Biologist. Ms. Buck led the permitting and biological monitoring effort for this project while at a previous <br />firm. She coordinated with Miami-Dade County DERM, FDEP and USACE to permit the vessel exclusion zone. She <br />developed a seagrass assessment plan to determine seagrass species presence and relative cover within the <br />designated anchor zone. The project was successfully permitted and the exclusion zone buoys were installed in 2014. <br />Senior Marine Biologist. Ms. Buck is the lead biologist for the Sectors 3 and 5 beach nourishment projects. She facilitated <br />agency coordination and led permitting, including development of Biological Monitoring Plans to support both projects. <br />Sector 5 was completed using a truck-haul approach with an upland sand source (171,400 cy) in February 2020 and <br />Sector 3 construction is scheduled for this coming winter with the potential to use an offshore sand source (~670,000 cy). <br />Senior Marine Biologist. At a previous firm Ms. Buck led the permitting to install a nearshore artificial reef along the public <br />beach, which included a biological habitat assessment and extensive coordination with regulatory agencies. She also led <br />the permitting effort to install a vessel exclusion zone along the public beach with the goal of creating a safe area for <br />public swimming and snorkeling.
