Senior Marine Biologist. Ms. Buck has conducted biological monitoring on artificial reefs and nearshore hardbottom for
Town projects since 2006 (previous firm). She worked with USACE and FDEP to expedite the permit modification for the
Mid-Town groin project, which was submitted in December 2017 and constructed by May 2018. Ms. Buck also led
production of an EIS that included the Reach 8 project and is currently working with USACE to complete the ROD.
Senior Marine Biologist. Ms. Buck has led environmental aspects of several of the City's projects, including permitting
and biological monitoring of the 5th Renourishment project and permitting for sea grape trimming at a previous firm. She
is currently managing the permitting effort for the City's 6th Renourishment with ongoing agency coordination. She also
led a survey for ESA listed coral species along the offshore reef to facilitate Section 7 consultation.
Senior Marine Biologist. Ms. Buck led the permitting and biological monitoring effort for this project while at a previous
firm. She coordinated with Miami-Dade County DERM, FDEP and USACE to permit the vessel exclusion zone. She
developed a seagrass assessment plan to determine seagrass species presence and relative cover within the
designated anchor zone. The project was successfully permitted and the exclusion zone buoys were installed in 2014.
Senior Marine Biologist. Ms. Buck is the lead biologist for the Sectors 3 and 5 beach nourishment projects. She facilitated
agency coordination and led permitting, including development of Biological Monitoring Plans to support both projects.
Sector 5 was completed using a truck-haul approach with an upland sand source (171,400 cy) in February 2020 and
Sector 3 construction is scheduled for this coming winter with the potential to use an offshore sand source (~670,000 cy).
Senior Marine Biologist. At a previous firm Ms. Buck led the permitting to install a nearshore artificial reef along the public
beach, which included a biological habitat assessment and extensive coordination with regulatory agencies. She also led
the permitting effort to install a vessel exclusion zone along the public beach with the goal of creating a safe area for
public swimming and snorkeling. Ms. Buck designed the plan to map hardbottom resources in the vicinity of the buoys.
