City of Sunny Isles Beach | RFQ No. 20-07-01 | Continuing Professional Consulting Services (CCNA) <br />Bridge Construction: SPE will hold a pre-concrete activity <br />meeting to go over the concrete placement and curing <br />requirements. Contractor’s concrete QC plan will be reviewed <br />in detail along with pile installation plan, pile support and <br />erection plan, crane specs and pile hammer specs. A pre-pile <br />installation meeting will include geotechnical engineer and <br />representatives from materials lab to review the specification <br />and plan requirements. Sr. bridge inspector will inspect pile <br />support erection and welding. The geotechnical engineer will <br />administer test pile installation and will provide a letter with <br />driving criteria. We will administer pile installation, curing <br />of deck using the continuous moisture curing, steel mat <br />inspection, vibration during concrete placement enforced <br />to eliminate any honeycombing. Pre-activity meeting prior <br />to installation of expansion joints, expansion joints will be <br />constructed after deck grooving to avoid damaging them. <br />Our team will use boats to perform an under deck inspection. <br />The PA will coordinate with the FDOT District Bridge Inspection <br />team to schedule the 90% and the 100% inspection. The <br />contractor will have to submit the bridge load rating prior to <br />the 100% inspection. <br />Signalization and Lighting: Ensure expedited submittal and <br />review of the signalization and lighting shop drawings and <br />reviewed for compliance with project plans, MUTCD, FDOT <br />Standard Index and County Specifications. Once approved, <br />we will coordinate the pre-lighting and pre-signalization office <br />and field meetings with the County, City, Florida Power & <br />Light (FPL) (if needed), and contractor. Then meet in the field <br />to establish locations of new load centers if any proposed. It <br />is critical to coordinate with FPL in advance to ensure that the <br />contractor isn’t delayed. <br />Signing and Pavement Markings: Materials certifications <br />submitted prior to the installation of final pavement <br />markings. All materials certifications will be reviewed for <br />conformance, thermoplastic layer won’t be applied until <br />14 days after placement of asphalt. A pre-sign installation <br />meeting conducted prior to construction, and then we will <br />conduct a thorough detailed review of signing and pavement <br />marking plans prior to construction and provide comments. <br />We will perform sign panel inspection for conformity of the <br />contract requirements regarding reflectivity, air bubbles, and <br />message on the sign. Utility owners will be contacted a week <br />in advance, to avoid conflicts with sign installation. <br />Utilities: We will begin by reviewing the utility work schedule <br />to create a map of all the utility work that is required on this <br />project, all utility owners invited to pre-construction meeting <br />and obtain status update on utility work especially work <br />required to be completed during construction. <br />Environmental Requirements: Construction activities <br />restricted to the limits shown in the plans, silt fence will be <br />installed, grates wrapped in filter fabric and all curb/gutter and <br />curb inlet sediment barriers are installed as per the standard <br />index. Usage of private properties will not be allowed without <br />a written agreement between the contractor and the private <br />property owner. The staging area will be coordinated, <br />reviewed and approved by all stakeholders prior. SPE will <br />review all permit requirements and share requirements with <br />the contractor to ensure compliance. <br />17
