STANDARD FORM 330 (REV. 8/2016) PAGE 22 <br />RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR <br />Continuing Professional Consulting Engineering Services-Environmental Engineering <br />#BID 20-07-01 <br /> <br /> <br />Response Time- <br />GBTS field personnel are equipped with cellular phones and are available to respond immediately. In addition, GBTS <br />makes available to its clients telephone lists of employees, including home number where they can be reached during <br />non-business hours. GBTS staff and management are available twenty -four hours per day, seven days per week for <br />testing and laboratory services. <br />ASBESTOS LABORATORY SERVICES <br />GBTS offers services for the analysis of asbestos content in building materials. GBTS has an in -house Polarized Light <br />Microscopy (PLM) laboratory, which is accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP ) <br />for bulk asbestos fiber analysis. Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) is used during asbestos abatement projects to <br />measure the amount of airborne fibers. Our company participates in the Proficiency Analytical Testing program to <br />ensure statistically reliable analyses. GBTS has developed Quality Control/Quality Assurance manuals with strict internal <br />quality control standards for all PLM and PCM analyses. GBTS has long standing relationships with subcontractors to <br />provide all other laboratory services. <br />Laboratory Operation and Quality Assurance- <br />GBTS and their subconsulting laboratories have written quality control manuals as required by NVLAP, for PLM and TEM <br />accreditation. These manuals are available for inspection by the Client upon request. Our PCM laborat ory also has <br />quality control manuals, as required by the American Association of Industrial Hygienists, for participation in the <br />Proficiency Analytical Testing (PAT) program. The TEM and PLM laboratories are currently accredited by NVLAP. <br />Air sampling is performed by individuals accredited as AHERA supervisors and trained in NIOSH Method 7400 through <br />the NIOSH 582 course. GBTS/EMSL personnel hold these minimum qualifications: <br /> Project monitors have NIOSH 582 certification and participate in the PAT program of AIHA, and are accredited <br />abatement supervisors under AHERA. <br /> PCM Microscopists have satisfactorily completed the NIOSH 582-equivalent course. <br /> PLM Analysts have satisfactorily completed a course in PLM analysis of asbestos in bulk materials at an <br />acknowledged institution, and have at least two years of experience in PLM analysis. <br /> TEM analysts have a minimum of 2 years of experience in electron microscopy and at least 1 year specializing in <br />asbestos analysis. <br /> <br />Turn-Around Time in Reporting Written Results- <br /> Bulk sample reports: Written reports will be delivered within up to 5 days of date of sampling. Color PDF of reports <br />via email transmitted within 12 hours of verbal results. <br /> Emergency bulk sample reports: Verbal and written results will be given within 3 to 12 hours as needed. Color PDF <br />of reports via email transmitted within 6 to 24 hours. <br /> Phase Contrast analysis reports: Verbal PCM results will be provided within 24 hours after the last test and a hand - <br />written report will be delivered to the the Client Project Manager the following day via facsimile and/or email color <br />PDF, with a final report to follow within 5 days. <br /> TEM analysis report: Verbal reports will be given within 24 hours (normal service) and 6 hours (emergency service) <br />after arrival in the laboratory. A written report will follow within 5 days. Color PDF of reports via email usually <br />transmitted within 8 hours of verbal results.
