STANDARD FORM 330 (REV. 8/2016) PAGE 23 <br />RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR <br />Continuing Professional Consulting Engineering Services-Environmental Engineering <br />#BID 20-07-01 <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD-BASED PAINT (HEAVY METAL TESTING AND CONSULTING) SERVICES <br />GBTS provides complete inspection, risk assessment, abatement project design, abatement project supervision, and air- <br />monitoring services for lead-based paint (LBP) and heavy metal coatings. Our staff has received lead -based paint <br />training in accordance with EPA requirements and is currently certified by E PA to conduct lead-based paint activities in <br />Florida. <br />X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) testing, used in conjunction with confirmatory Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) <br />sampling, is one of many testing strategies used by GBTS for accurate and cost -effective lead detection. GBTS utilizes <br />the Niton® XL Spectrum Analyzer, which is the most advanced portable on -site testing and field screening device <br />available for lead detection in paint and soil. Services include: <br /> Lead-Based Paint Inspections. <br /> Risk Assessments. <br /> AAS Analyses of Air Samples, Soils Samples, and Confirmatory Paint Chip Samples. <br /> Lead Testing of Water and Paint for Lead Content. <br /> Abatement Specifications, Sampling Plans, and OSHA Compliance Monitoring. <br /> Air Monitoring and Project Management and Supervision. <br /> Awareness Training. <br /> <br />INDOOR AIR QUALITY (IAQ) ASSESSMENT AND REMEDIATION DESIGN <br />GBTS’s IAQ team leads the industry, with over 40-years of cumulative experience diagnosing and mitigating indoor air <br />quality problems resulting from physical, biological, an d chemical stressors in the building environment. GBTS’s multi - <br />disciplinary approach to indoor air quality delivers the highest quality consulting services utilizing a full time <br />professional staff including: a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Indoor Air Quality Professionals (CIAQP), <br />Certified Mold Assessors (CMA), Environmental Engineer, a Certified Safety Professionals (CSP), and industrial <br />hygienists. GBTS's highly trained staff is skilled in the sampling techniques specific to the rapidl y evolving indoor air <br />quality industry. In addition to extensive in-house resources, GBTS has consulting affiliations with microbiologists, <br />toxicologists, building scientists, and occupational physicians to broaden and increase the effectiveness and relia bility of <br />services provided to our clients. Together, GBTS's team has the experience and training to address any IAQ concern. <br />GBTS professionals are concerned with both health hazards and the immediate economic impact of the health hazards. <br />Every IAQ situation is unique; many variables may need to be considered to address a specific issue. Accordingly, GBTS <br />utilizes a phased study approach to economically evaluate IAQ. The initial phase includes visual inspections and a <br />preliminary air quality screening. Based on the data collected in this phase, recommendations for corrective action or <br />additional testing are prepared. The phased approach reduces client expense and focuses on results.
