Performed a geotechnical exploration for the proposed Automation and Gate Replacement at SFWMD Control Structure S-178 in Homestead, Florida. The project is to replace the existing gate with an automated new gate at Control Structure S-178 site. The construction will also include a new Control Building and two Stilling Well Platforms (one on upstream and one on downstream). Field work included SPT borings. Provided geotechnical recommendations for foundation design and general site development. Completed on time and <br />within budget in 2016 <br /> Consent Decree 4.9 Replace Approximately 30 Miles of Asbestos Concrete Pipe (ACP) FM <br />Transmission System, Miami-Dade County, Florida. The purpose of this project was to replace asbestos cement force mains that have experienced failures and are difficult to locate in the field. It replaced approximately 30 miles of ACP FM transmission system. Performed geotechnical engineering studies for the following sections: <br />– CD Project 4.9 (20, 21) Replacement of 467 Linear Feet of 8-inch ACP Force Main from PS 0366 to NW 42nd Place and NW 199th Terrace, then 1,792 Linear Feet of 10-Inch ACP Force Main to NW 39th Court and NW 199th Street <br />– CD Project 4.9 (22) Replacement of 2,056 Linear Feet of 6-inch Force Main from Pump Station 0358 to Pump Station 0352 <br />– CD Project 4.9 (25, 26) Replacement of 1,425 Linear Feet of 10-inch ACP Force Main from NW 123rd Drive and 52nd Avenue to NW 178th Terrace and 52nd Avenue <br />– CD Project 4.9 (32) Replacement of 851 Linear Feet of 12-Inch ACP Force Main in SW 107th Avenue, from 104th Street to Kendale Boulevard <br />– CD Project 4.9 (47) Replacement of 973 Linear Feet of 8-inch ACP Force Main from Pump Station 0869 to SW 122nd Avenue and SW 88th Street <br />– CD Project 4.9 (69) Replacement of 2,320 Linear Feet of 12-inch ACP Force Main from PS No. 0333 south to Miami Lakes Drive <br />– CD Project 4.9 (73) Replacement of 14,000 Linear Feet of 10-inch Force Main with 12-inch DIP along the Golf Course, between PS 0735 and PS 0728 AC and SW 92nd Ave. <br />Completed on time and within budget in 2016 <br /> SFWMD - C-4 Canal Bank Improvements - Belen Phase II, Miami-Dade County, Florida. Provided construction material testing services for the construction of 3900 linear feet of earthen berms and approx. 400 linear feet of a concrete flood protection gravity wall on the north end of the C4 Canal in Miami-Dade County. TSF provided material testing, sampling and laboratory testing services. Services included laboratory testing, density tests and concrete testing for structures and pavement; inspection and testing of earthwork embankment, concrete and laboratory testing. Laboratory Testing included Proctor testing on soil samples, sieve analysis and Atterberg Limits tests, organic content tests on select soil types and concrete cylinders for compressive strength. Field work included Conducting slump, air content, and temperature testing on concrete; Mold compressive strength test cylinders. TSF also provided one-part time level 3 Inspection Technician during construction for density tests and concrete field testing; one-part time level 2 Inspection Technician for sample pick-up, including cylinders and a Level 5 Senior Geotechnical Engineer for project review, meetings and coordination. Completed on time and within budget in 2014 <br /> 54-inch Force Main NW 156th Street from NW 57th Avenue to 32nd Avenue, Miami Dade <br />County, Florida Performed a geotechnical engineering study for the replacement of the 54-inch force main that starts at NW 47th Avenue on the north embankment of the C-8 canal and traverses to the east for about 5,440 LF with open cut up to the projection of NW 37th Avenue still on the north embankment of C-8 canal (includes the crossing of spur canal). Provided a report detailing information on groundwater and subsurface conditions as well as geotechnical recommendations regarding excavations, trench backfill, and lateral earth pressures (active, at-rest, and passive earth <br />26
