TSF technicians performed in-place density tests on slabs, subgrade, base and utility backfill material; conducted slump and temperature testing on concrete; molded compressive strength test cylinders. A TSF Senior Engineer provided review of daily reports, coordination, and attended meetings as necessary.
Completed on time and within budget in 2019
Cargo Gates Modifications & Process Improvements, Miami, Florida. TSF is currently providing Construction Material Testing and Special Inspection Services for the Cargo Gates Modifications & Process Improvements located within the Port of Miami. The project includes modifications and process improvements to the cargo gates and new drainage lines as well as Reinforcing Steel and Structural Steel Inspections for connections, bolts and welds for the Security Gates Buildings and canopies. TSF services include laboratory testing, soils and concrete sampling/testing, and reporting. Sampling and Laboratory Testing includes Modified Proctor values on subgrade and base material; LBR tests on subgrade and base materials; Test compressive strength concrete cylinders for foundations, slab-on-grade, and miscellaneous. TSF technicians are performing In-Place Density testing on slabs, subgrade, base and utility backfill material; Conducting slump and temperature testing on concrete; and Molding compressive strength test cylinders. A TSF Certified Building Inspector is observing reinforcing steel in foundations, slabs, structural steel, connections and all inspections necessary to comply with permitted construction documents and inspection plan. A final compliance letter will be provided confirming that all inspected work was performed as per Florida Building Code, project specifications and Miami-Dade County requirements. A TSF Senior Engineer is providing review of daily reports, coordination, and attending meetings. The project is on-going.
Miami-Dade Transfer Station Conceptual Study, Homestead, Florida. TSF performed a Geotechnical Engineering Study for the Miami-Dade Transfer Station located in Homestead, Florida. The project consists of a single-story Transfer Station Building, with wall heights in excess of 45 feet. The purpose of this study was to explore the subsurface conditions at the site to enable a preliminary evaluation of an acceptable foundation for the construction. TSF’s geotechnical field study included SPT borings and test pits exploration. Provided a geotechnical engineering report including geotechnical evaluations and preliminary discussions regarding floor slab and utilities. Completed
on time and within budget in 2020
FIU Frost Museum Phase I & II, Miami, Florida: TSF performed a geotechnical engineering study for the FIU Frost Museum of Science located at the Biscayne Bay Campus. The development consists of 50-feet-diameter tanks, a 1-story classroom lab building (later known as the Bachelor Environmental Center), and several other smaller buildings. Field work included SPT borings and BHP tests. The purpose of the study was to explore the subsurface conditions at the site to enable an evaluation of acceptable foundation systems for the proposed construction. TSF provided geotechnical recommendations for foundation soil preparation requirements, foundation types, depths, allowable bearing capacities, and an estimate of potential settlement. Also provided were comments regarding factors that may impact construction and the performance of the proposed construction. Completed on time and within budget in 2018

29
