Craig A. Smith & Associates, Inc.
Engineers • Surveyors • Subsurface Utility Engineering
3D Subsurface Imaging • Utility Coordination
SECTION E1 -QUALIFICATION
INFORMATION AND ASSIGNED
PERSONNEL
extended due to owner requested expansion to scope of work.
Pro/ect Challenges & Approach: Records drawings for this project are extremely limited. CAS
performed utility locates and coordinated with City O&M staff where necessary to verify locations
of existing water mains, valves and services and designed new water mains in a manner which
minimized water service disruption to customers and reduced restoration impacts to roadways,
driveways and landscaping. In addition, CAS through public informational meetings familiarized
homeowners with the project scope and involved them during the design process by incorporating
design elements such as location of water service lines and meter box location preferences on
their property and addressed any other concerns during the design and construction phase. In
addition, project construction scheduling (phasing) was clearly provided to homeowners well in
advance of construction.
Design Cost: $310,149
Construction Cost: $2,618,649
•Hardee County -Wauchula HIiis Water Main Improvements -Phase VI, Wauchula, Florida
Status: On-going (Construction Phase -60% complete)
Prime Consultant: CAS
Key CAS Staff: Gene R. Schriner, Greg Giarratana, Keith Schriner, Robert D. Keener
Scope of Work: Survey, design, contract document development, permitting, bidding, construction
management and observation through project close-out for the installation of approximately
1,000 linear feet of 6" water main, 4,000 linear feet of 8" water main, and 4,450 linear feet of 10
water main including roadway/driveway restoration including fire hydrants and valves, and
connections to existing 4" and 12" water mains.
Pro/ect Challenges & Approach: Community outreach and coordination with residents for water
service connections is essential for the successful completion of this project. Also close
coordination with the contractor during construction has been maintained in order to ensure that
driveway and roadway damage/restoration Is minimized.
Design Cost {Including Construction Management): $100,426
Construction Cost: $1,775,635
•Hardee County -Wauchula HIiis Water & Sanitary Sewer Improvements -Phase V, Wauchula,
Florida
Status: On-going (Construction Phase -80% complete)
Prime Consultant: CAS
Key CAS Staff: Gene R.
