(i.e., 60% design plan deliverables at traditional 30% design
phase). CAS' unified design process includes survey and utility locates which are services provided "in
house" by CAS thus, eliminating the need for subconsultants for the development of basemaps and
allowing for a streamlined efficient and more cost-effective design. Acquiring comprehensive and
accurate utility locates in order to develop complete basemaps will be critical to the successful
completion of most projects, eliminating design deficiencies.
PHASE Ill -FINAL ENGINEERING AND BIDDING
•Preparation of 90% design and final
(1.00%) construction plans
•Preparation of final specifications and
contract documents
•Quality Assurance Review with City
•Finalize cost estimate; Develop Bid
Tabulation (Schedule of Values)
•Meet with City Staff to review final
project design, schedule and budget
•Finalize permitting (DERM, HRS, MIAMI
DADE WATER & SEWER, MIAMI-DADE
PUBLIC WORKS, FDEP, FDOT, CITY
BUILDING DEPT., etc.)
•Advertise for bidding
•Provide plan adjustments and finalize
for bidding
•Bid project (typical 30 days); solicit
qualified bidders
•Prepare bid addendums and answer
contractor RFl's
•Assist City in receipt of bids
•Review bids and bidder qualifications
•Recommend award
•Assist City with contract management
)45 Commercial Trail, Boca Raton, FL 33486 • Ph: 561-314-4445 • www.craigasmith.com • LB3110
