The new water main will replace existing asbestos cement pipe (ACP) and <br />also improve fire protection and pressures to the neighborhood residences. Work also includes the abandonment <br />of 2,650 linear feet of existing ACP water mains and the relocation of meters and services from the rear of the <br />residential lots to the front of the lots. Additional services include public outreach and existing permit modifications. <br />CAS, through public informational meetings, has familiarized homeowners with the project scope and involved <br />homeowners during the design process by incorporating design elements such as location of water service lines <br />and meter box location preferences on their property and shall address any other concerns during the construction <br />phase. Design costs are $96,400 and estimated construction costs are $300,000. The project was approved by the <br />City as a change order to the existing Phase I construction contract.
