At each phase of design benchmark, we evaluate potential errors, omissions, and document coordination problems that may impact cost and time after contract award and bring these to the attention of the project team. We can evaluate alternatives and recommend substitute methods or materials based on their relative economy and life cycle. Our efforts are designed and focused to identify and make recommendations on cost issues and risks as early as possible to address and mitigate these prior to the start of construction. KEITH recently completed the re-analysis of the Northern, Western and Ravenswood Drainage System Study for Broward County Aviation Department (BCAD). Our Value Engineering practices provided Broward County a reduction in anticipated comparable cost which equated to a projected savings differential estimated at $6.5 million from the initial study and recommendation provided by a previous drainage consultant. KEITH has a reputation of working within the budgets set and negotiated to perform design and construction services of this nature. We look to build long lasting partnerships with our clients and have found the best business practices to be reliable and accountable. On many previous projects, KEITH has managed our team in an efficient manner resulting in residual contract dollars being reconciled and reassigned for additional projects. Design team addendums are only requested in association with a significant scope change or significant unforeseen conditions. The general objective of this contract is to be available to the City of Sunny Isles Beach as a consultant that functions as an extension of its own skilled professionals. KEITH will continue to provide a multi-disciplinary resource pool of qualified professionals as we have for many years. This team will be expected to provide quality and time-and-budget-responsive support to the City for specialized general civil engineering services and surveyors and mapping, as identified in the City’s Request for Letters of Interest. This support may be in the form of defined technical tasks, which are alternatively performed in the office of the consultant team or, as needed, in the City’s offices, side-by-side with its professional and technical staff. Quality Assurance/Quality Control KEITH is keenly aware that time is of the essence for most projects and cost is always an important component of the design. Therefore, we have an established Quality Assurance/ Quality Control (QA/QC) Program that is implemented throughout the design process and through project closeout. This ensures that the plans are prepared to the highest quality standards from the beginning and eliminates lengthy agency review and revision times. It also allows for value engineering and constructability analysis throughout the quality review process. The Quality Control department at KEITH is truly innovative and was instituted to hold all projects to a higher quality than industry standards. This department is an integral part of all projects and it is composed of several experienced professional engineers that have a combined 100+ years of experience. Our QA/QC Program consists of the following four (4) key principles: Proper Project Approach: Quality is achieved through due diligence, communication, planning, coordination, supervision, and technical direction at the very start of the project.
