14
TAB D - PROJECT APPROACH & UNDERSTANDING
SAFETY
Accidents do not happen without cause. The identification, isolation and control of these causes are
underlying principles of all accident prevention techniques. Education and training are an ongoing
and daily process within the KEITH team structure. Through adequate instruction, personnel gain best
practices and develop safe work habits. Our Field Review and Safety Supervisor, Mr. Sean Marshall, holds
weekly “toolbox” safety meetings in accord with O.S.H.A. specifications.
All our field personnel have received Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T.) safety training currently required
by the FDOT for work within public roadways. Specialty crews have additional certifications for O.S.H.A.
Confined Space Entry requirements for general industry and construction and CSX Rail Corridor Access.
KEITH is also in full compliance with the current School Board Security Clearance Policies of finger
printing and successful background checks in accordance with the State of Florida Jessica Lunsford Act
for school access by workforce personnel. If you need us there, we can go there.
PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT
KEITH recognizes that among the many contributing factors to a successful project, public involvement
and consensus building are critical elements and we strive to incorporate into every major project. Our
public involvement program has been extremely successful in establishing lines of communication among
the affected parties so that everyone has an opportunity to contribute towards the development of the
project. We have facilitated charrettes for numerous municipal projects to gain awareness of community
preferences and concerns on upcoming developments. On many sensitive construction projects, KEITH
has established a community hotline manned by our project engineers to assist in resolving community
construction related concerns in a timely and effective manner.
