DESIGN EXPERIENCE WITH WATER SUPPLY AND WASTEWATER SYSTEMS
Master plans of water and sanitary sewer systems, hydraulic network analysis by computer, sanitary
sewer collection and transmission systems such as forces mains and gravity systems, water distribution
and transmission systems, pump stations, wells, water
treatment plants and special structures.
Hialeah Annex Water and Sewer Systems and Master Plan
- This work encompassed the preparation of a water and sewer
master plan for the area in order to determine the current and
future service needs, on top of the size and location/alignment
of water and sewer main lines needed along the major arterial
roadways. It also encompassed the design of an 8.06 MGD
regional sewer pump station with backup generator with enough
capacity to serve the entire annexed and adjacent areas.
Additional work comprised of the design of approximately 1,480
LF of 24-inch gravity sanitary sewer mains, approximately
10,724 LF of 24-inch force main extensions, approximately
3,229 LF of 36-inch force main extensions, and approximately
12,166 LF of 36-inch water main extensions.
MDWASD Pump Stations- The work for these projects involved
the engineering design and preparation of construction
documents for the Pump Stations. New pumping units, new
electrical control panels, new electrical services, new telemetry
systems, replacement of PS piping, new valve vaults and fittings,
new wet wells, demolition of existing pump stations, and
associated site improvements. Other services covered plans processing and permitting, plus the bid
phase services.

EXPERIENCE DESIGNING WATER AND SEWER PIPELINES

SRS has extensive experience in the design of water and sewer pipeline projects. As one of Miami-
Dade County’s top private land development design firms, we have designed over 53 large land
development projects within Miami-Dade in the last 10 years. These land development projects all
required the planning and design of water, sewer distribution and collections systems. Most of these
projects required the donation of the water and sewer systems to MDWASD. Most of these projects
were small diameter systems (8-inch to 36-inch diameter pipes). Altogether our firm has designed over
384,966 LF (72.9 miles) of water mains; 451,607 LF (85.5 miles) of gravity sewer mains; and 105,308
LF (19.9 miles) of sewer force mains. These pipeline
projects encompassed designs in steel, DIP, PVC, and
HDPE pipe. Our recent relevant project experience
involves NW 142nd Street Water and Sewer
Improvement project for the City of Hialeah (10,154 LF),
the Bonterra residential land development project (155-
Ac; 66,902 LF), and the Flagler Countyline, Phase I
Industrial Park (160-Ac; 40,583 LF). We have experience
with all facets of local water and sewer pipeline design
containing performing pipeline route analysis, hydraulic
analysis and modeling, engineering design and
preparation of construction drawings and contract
61
