South Miami Heights Water Treatment Plant Design of Upper Floridian/Biscayne Aquifer, Miami-Dade Water & Sewer
Department, FL. The South Miami Heights Water Treatment Plant was developed as a reverse osmosis treatment facility to provide
20 MGD of drinking water, utilizing raw water extracted from the Biscayne Aquifer. The project objective is to revamp the plant process
to use ware extracted from the Upper Floridian Aquifer as the raw water source. Ms. Ferradaz serves as Project Manager on Nova’s
assistance with the Design Criteria Package.
Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant Headwork Facilities Upgrades, Miami Dade Water & Sewer Department. This
project consisted of upgrades to the headwork facilities at the plant’s process treatment streams. Nova was responsible for the process
mechanical design criteria, permitting coordination, and the Basis of Design Report; consisting of conceptual drawings through BIM.
Ms. Ferradaz served as Sr. Principal Engineer. South District Wastewater Treatment Plant Digester Facility Rehabilitation, Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department, FL. This
project consists of the rehabilitation to the plant’s gas phase digesters. Nova is responsible for the design of the digesters’ recirculation
pumps, heat exchangers, transfer pumps, blowers, floating covers, and associated piping and appurtenances. Ms. Ferradaz serves as
Sr. Principal Engineer. Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant Master Pump Station 2 Upgrades, Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department, FL.
This Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department project consists of design services for the Master Pump Station 2 (MPS2) upgrades,
which will maintain pump during periods of high flow at the Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant. Nova is responsible for the
detailed design of the mechanical, structural and general design drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents. Ms.
Ferradaz served as Project Manager.

Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant Injection Well Pump Station Design, Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department, FL.
The project entails the design and permitting of a new injection well pump station. Under a previous task order Nova was responsible
for the process mechanical, preliminary design drawings, and regulatory requirements included in the BODR. Currently, Nova is
completing the detailed design and development of final design documents for bidding. Ms. Ferradaz serves as Sr. Principal Engineer.

Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant Return Activated Sludge (RAS) Pump Station Improvements, Miami-Dade Water
& Sewer Department, FL. The project entailed the rehabilitation and repair of the RAS pump station at the Central District Wastewater
Treatment Plant. Nova participated in the mechanical and HVAC detailed design drawings and specifications, project management
and coordination, and quality control. Ms. Ferradaz serves as Sr. Principal Engineer.

South Miami Heights Water Treatment Plant, Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department, FL. The proposed water treatment plant
design included membrane buildings, reservoirs, a multi-purpose building raw water booster pumps, strainers, bulk chemical storage,
sodium hypochlorite, electrical generator switch building, and a high service pumping station. As Cost Estimator, Ms. Ferradaz worked
on updating the cost estimate for the planned activities.
Pipeline Design from South District Wastewater Treatment Plant to the South District Water Reclamation Plant, Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department, FL. This project included the large diameter piping design as part of the influent pipeline design from the
South District Wastewater Treatment Plan to the Water Reclamation Plant, including a canal crossing through micro-tunnel, together
with driving and receiving pits. As Assistant Project Manager, Ms. Ferradaz was responsible for design, utility coordination, and cost
estimating. South District Wastewater Treatment Water Reclamation Plant, Reclaimed Water Conveyance System, Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department, FL. The proposed 9.5 mile, 42” conveyance system was envisioned to run from the South District Wastewater
Treatment Water Reclamation Plant to a groundwater recharge facility located near the Metro Zoo area. Scope of services included
preliminary hydraulic analysis, identification of all necessary permits and potential environmental impacts. Nova provided the
