71 <br />Luis Dantes │ Construction Field Representative <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />oversight of construction activities on MDWASD's behalf and daily reporting of construction activities. Mr. Dantes was Construction <br />Field Representative. <br /> <br />PortMiami Cruise Terminal A Environmental Mitigation Project. Miami-Dade County Seaport Department, FL. As a result of <br />the construction of the new Cruise Terminal A, there was an environmental requirement to transplant existing coral to an artificial reef <br />offshore in front of South Beach. The project consisted of the fabrication of 120 gabions filled with rocks and installed at the <br />deployment area offshore north of the port entrance channel in front of South Beach. The coral was then transplanted from the <br />boulders protecting the shoreline to the top of the gabions to develop and artificial reef. A second phase consisted of moving the <br />corals to the final offshore location. As Field Representative, Mr. Dantes conducted field observations of the second phase. <br />IT Facility Replacement Project, South Florida Water Management District, Miami, FL. As part of the Operations and <br />Maintenance Capital Program, the IT Facility Replacement Project - Miami, located in Miami-Dade County, consists of replacing the <br />existing communications equipment facility, installing new communications support equipment, installing a new electrical grounding <br />grid and installing new communications cabling at the Miami Field Station and Miami South Tower sites. Replacement of the existing <br />facility will allow for continued service by the microwave tower, which serves as part of the backbone telemetry system of the flood <br />control system. As Field Engineer, Mr. Dantes observes and documents the construction and assists the DPM (District Project <br />Manager) and Chen Li with LH Engineering in determining if the work is performed according to the associated Project drawings and <br />specifications. He attends and participates at project construction meetings as requested to update the District on the status of the <br />construction, which includes but is not limited to construction activities accomplished to date, potential and/or actual construction <br />problems and delays, and upcoming work to be completed by the construction Contractor and the Consultant. He assists in the review <br />and response, as specified by the DPM, to shop drawing submittals, Requests for Information (RFls), Requests for Clarifications <br />(RFCs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Change Orders (CO), Field Orders (FO) and Value Engineering (VE) proposals and <br />submittals, as necessary; assist the DPM with the review and reconciliation of Contractor payment applications; and assist with the <br />verification of project completion milestones and contract closeout/commissioning. BCWWS Master Pump Stations 224 and 226 Improvements, Broward County, FL. This project consists of the rehabilitation of <br />Master Pump Stations 224 and 226. Repairs involved well rehabilitation, replacement of piping, pumps, panels, electrical valves, and <br />hatches. Nova was responsible for all phases of the planning, design and construction for these two large master pump station <br />projects, including flow analysis and determination of peak flows considering I/I and RDII, engineering reports and BODR including <br />equipment selection, process mechanical design, structural rehabilitation, MOT, and permitting with the Florida Department of <br />Environmental Protection and Broward County Environmental Protection Department. Mr. Dantes was Field Engineer. <br /> <br />* Public Works Department in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Mr. Dantes was Supervisor for the Department and Structural <br />Inspector. <br />* Invi la Virgen and Paraiso Canaan (Villa Mella). Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Project Manager for the construction of <br />water distribution projects. <br /> * Private Industry, General Contractor, Dominican Republic. Field Project Engineer responsible for Civil and Structural <br />Construction Supervision of building and housing projects. <br /> <br />* Constructora Jordaca, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
