The USACE is proposing to dredge the Baker’s Haulover Inlet ebb shoal and place the material on
adjacent Bal Harbour Village shoreline. Project Manager for large-scale habitat mapping and characterization study of
seagrass, macroalgae and hardbottom communities to inform permitting and NEPA efforts, as well as future monitoring
design. Provided ESA Section 7 consultation support and Essential Fish Habit at Assessment.
b. (1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) (2) YEAR COMPLETED
Lake Worth Lagoon Annual Transect Monitoring
Lake Worth Lagoon, Palm Beach County, FL
PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)
2018 and 2020 NA
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm
Lead Biologist. Conducted annual monitoring of fixed seagrass transects throughout Lake Worth Lagoon for Palm
Beach County. The monitoring involved assessment of seagrass cover as well as water quality sampling, with the aim of
assessing changes in seagrass cover within the lagoon over time. Acted as lead biologist during 2020 monitoring.
c (1) TITLE AND LOCATION (City and State) (2) YEAR COMPLETED
St. Lucie Estuary Oyster Habitat Mapping,
St. Lucie Estuary, Martin County, FL
PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES
CONSTRUCTION (If applicable)
2019 NA
(3) BRIEF DESCRIPTION (Brief scope size, cost, etc.) AND SPECIFIC ROLE Check if project performed with current firm
Project Manager. Project lead for mapping of benthic habitats within the SLE and tracking changes in oyster reef habitat,
under the Northern Estuaries Module of RECOVER. Remote sensing data of the estuary seafloor w as assessed and
ground-truthed to produce a benthic substrate map that identifies substrate type and analyzes changes in oyster
distribution in the study area over time.
d. In support of permitting the Higgs Beach Sand Placement Project in Key West, conducted a
reconnaissance survey of the project area and immediate vicinity to map out and characterize nearshore benthic habitats,
including seagrass and hardbottom communities. Coordinated with both the FDEP and FKNMS on the design of the
survey and subsequent biological monitoring plan. Contracted to perform post-construction monitoring and analysis.
