Conducted a benthic survey of natural resources of a proposed dredge area and surrounding borrow <br />areas to map the extent, and characterize, benthic habitats present including seagrasses and other potential marine <br />resources of concern (e.g. corals) using novel techniques due to high currents and extensive vessel traff ic. Multiple species <br />of seagrass, including the threatened Johnsons’ seagrass (Halophila johnsonii) were identified and mapped. Drafted an <br />Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) Assessment as part of a NEPA-Compliant Environmental Assessment for the project. <br />b. Line-intercept data and quadrat <br />data were collected to characterize the seagrass beds.
