This $149 million Design/Build project includes construction of 6.7 miles of I-95 to extend the existing express lanes north from just south of Broward Boulevard to just north of Commercial Boulevard in Broward County. One lane will be added and the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane will be converted to create two express lanes in each direction. This project includes ramp signalization from Hallandale Beach Boulevard to Commercial Boulevard. Other work includes installing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and tolling equipment; widening bridges; and installing noise barrier walls at locations along I-95 Southbound between Broward Boulevard and NW 6th Street, and along I-95 Northbound between Powerline Road and Commercial Boulevard. This $248 million Design-Build project consisted of the implementation of tolled express lanes along approximately ten (10) miles of the Palmetto Expressway, and approximately three (3) miles of I-75 from the Palmetto Expressway to NW 170th Street. The project also included constructing a new flyover connecting the SR 826/Palmetto Expressway and I-75 express lanes; constructing access points to/from the express lanes system; installing ramp metering at all entrance ramps along the Palmetto Expressway; installing noise barrier walls; and installing new lighting along the I-75 express lanes; MSE walls, toll gantries & equipment buildings, sound wall, as well as multiple bridge widenings. In addition, milling & resurfacing, signing & pavement marking, widening, earthwork, drainage improvements, and ITS. Responsible for ensuring that our company had all permits necessary to commence and conduct work; supervising the installation of utility infrastructure, including cable boxes for AT&T and Comcast; overseeing at least three groups of workers (3 to 5 workers per group); dealing directly with homeowners, notifying them in advance that our company would be working on and excavating in their easements and front yards in order to install cable infr astructure and boxes; and ensuring that at completion of all work, easements and front yards were left in a satisfactory fa shion.
