24 | IA INTERIOR ARCHITECTS <br />BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING <br />IA is an early adopter of the most advanced and powerful <br />technologies available for developing and communicating <br />our design intent to clients. <br />We were quick to adopt Revit and BIM and are now lever- <br />aging the next wave of software and hardware: virtual <br />reality, as well as web-based project management tools, <br />benchmarking programs, and a BIM 360 Cloud platform, <br />enabling global platform collaboration. <br />From IA’s founding, we have focused on how to best assist <br />clients in the planning of their spaces. These services have <br />evolved into a robust menu of programming and planning <br />toolsets, anchored by our utilization of advanced Building <br />Information Modeling (BIM). This approach allows IA to <br />better discover and format data critical to each client’s <br />space, therefore streamlining workflow at every step, <br />saving time and money, and heightening ideation and <br />communication. <br />Revit is the current world standard for the creation, analy- <br />sis, documentation and visualization of design information <br />models. This is the primary engine used by IA during the <br />project information phase. <br />IA maintains critical project data links from our program- <br />ming tools, reducing information synthesis and rework by <br />staff, allowing a higher level of data integrity throughout <br />the project phase lifecycle. From schematic design through <br />day-one occupancy, the Revit project model evolves to <br />support the teams and stakeholders with real time data. <br />From space planning to design visualization, all output <br />comes from a common source. This gives both the team <br />and client confidence that what you see—and base critical <br />decisions upon—is what you get. <br />IA utilizes BIM 360 Cloud, a project collaboration sys- <br />tem that delivers a virtual environment (i.e., streaming via <br />the internet) that allows teams to collaborate and perform <br />work anywhere, with anyone, consultants and clients. This <br />tool is a key to allowing IA to leverage our global talent <br />base, using talent wherever it's located—especially impor- <br />tant during the COVID19 crisis.
