guiding the development of the Plan by PAAC using the services of a public <br />art curator, art appraiser and all other consultants, when required. <br />This Master Plan will be presented to the Commission as a <br />comprehensive plan for their formal adoption at a public hearing with public <br />input before it goes into effect. <br />The City is a built (albeit re -developing) environment on 1.5 square <br />miles of a barrier island located between the ocean and the <br />Intracoastal. Collins Avenue runs the City south to north along the <br />Ocean and North Bay Road intermittently runs the City south to north <br />along the Intracoastal Waterway. It has eleven (11) state of the art <br />public parks, beach access points, and other smaller spaces <br />which represent opportunities for public art and community bridge - <br />building. <br />The Cultural Master Plan sets forth a vision for arts and culture: <br />• Arts and cultural programming [to] enhance Sunny Isles Beach as a <br />livable, family, -friendly, vibrant and creative community <br />• Through a high-quality, accessible, year-round portfolio of attractive <br />cultural Programs [to] expand participation in the arts across diverse <br />residents, improving quality of life in our City <br />• Arts and cultural programming [to] animate and celebrate our <br />unique landscape and public spaces, enhance our city's profile, and <br />forge stronger bonds within our community." <br />The PAAC and this Plan seeks to refine, define, and implement the <br />arts and creative -place making aspect of this vision. <br />The overall goals identified by the PAAC are as follows: <br />• Unifying pedestrian movements and pathways throughout the <br />City. <br />• Employing existing, and improving and multiplying gathering <br />space and parks to create a family -friendly, thriving community. <br />5 <br />
