Mason sand is not acceptable. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 EXAMINATION <br />A. Examine and verify that receiving substrate surfaces have no defects or errors whi ch <br />would result in poor or potentially defective application or cause latent defects in <br />workmanship. <br />1. Conditions of Surfaces <br />a. Clean, free of oil, water, moisture, laitance, or any other deleterious <br />substances. <br />b. The base course shall be shaped top-grade and cross section with an <br />allowable tolerance of 1/4". <br />c. Twelve-inch compacted subgrade compacted to 95% maximum density <br />per AASHTO T-180 with a minimum LBR of 40. <br />d. Report any unsatisfactory conditions to the LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT. <br />e. Starting installation shall imply acceptance of surfaces. <br />3.02 PREPARATION <br />A. Substrate Surface <br />1. Prepare substrate surfaces to insure proper and adequate installation, in exact <br />accordance with the Contract Documents, approved sample panels and <br />manufacturer's requirements. <br />B. Field Measurements <br />1. Field measure and verify dimensions as required. <br />C. Protection of Adjacent Areas of Surfaces: <br />1. Protect adjacent areas or surfaces from damage as a result of the Work of this <br />Section. <br />3.03 INSTALLATION <br />A. Install in exact accordance with manufacturer's latest requirements, instructions, <br />specifications, and details. <br />B. Install compacted coarse granular base in accordance with FDOT specifications and <br />those shown in the drawings. <br />C. Place and screen sand to depths shown and to give a final even grade to top of pavers <br />after compaction.
