<br />CTA Project No. 19-0035-001-01 02780-5 Golden Shores Street Lighting <br />October 12, 2020 SIB Bid No. 20-09-01 <br />D. Pavers: <br />1. The pavers shall be laid in the approved pattern as noted or shown on the plans <br />and approved sample panels. <br />2. Lay the pavers in the desired pattern with tight joints. For maximum inter lock, <br />joints between pavers shall not exceed 1/8". <br />3. Use string lines to hold all patterns true. <br />4. The gaps at the edge of the paver surface shall be filled with standard edge <br />stone or with stones cut to fit. Cutting shall be accomplished to leave a cle an <br />edge to the traffic surface using a masonry saw. Cuts which result in a paver <br />less than 1/3 of original dimension should be avoided. <br />5. Set pavers one-fourth inch higher than surrounding pavements or grade. <br />6. Vibrate the pavers into the sand laying co urse using a vibrator capable of 3,000 <br />to 5,000 pounds compaction force with the surface clean and joints open. <br />7. After vibration, the clean sand joint mixture shall be spread over the paver <br />surface, and vibrated into joints with additional vibrator passe s and brushing so <br />as to completely fill joints. <br />3.04 CLEANING <br />A. Immediately remove all spots, smears, stains, residues, adhesives, etc., from the Work <br />of this Section and/or upon adjacent areas or surfaces which result from the Work. Use <br />cleaners as manufactured by Paver Systems or approved equal for cleaning the pavers. <br />B. Upon the completion of the work dispose of, away from the Site, all debris, trash, <br />containers, residue, remnant and scraps which result from the Work. <br />C. Remove sample panels at the completion of the work or when directed by the <br />LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT. <br />3.05 PROTECTION <br />A. After installation and until Owner acceptance, protect the pavers from damage. <br />B. Remove damaged units and replace with new, undamaged units. <br />3.06 GUARANTEE <br />A. Guarantee pavers and installation for twelve months after final payment. <br />END OF SECTION 02780 <br />
