CTA Project No. 19-0035-001-01 16500-1 Golden Shores Street Lighting <br />October 12, 2020 SIB Bid No. 20-09-01 <br />SECTION 16500 - LIGHTING <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 THE REQUIREMENT <br />A. CONTRACTOR shall furnish and install all lighting Luminaires, labor, and material, in <br />accordance with the preceding specifications, the requirements of this section, and as <br />shown on the drawings. <br />B. Lighting shall be in accordance with the latest requirements of the Illuminating <br />Engineering Society, and all lighting Luminaires shall have the Underwriters <br />Laboratories, Inc. label of approval. <br />C. All wiring shall be placed in conduit and shall comply with the specifications for conduit, <br />outlet boxes, pull and junction boxes, wires and cables, grounding, and other sections as <br />set forth in these specifications and as noted herein. <br />D. Reference Section 16000, Basic Electrical Requirements. <br />1.02 CODES AND STANDARDS <br />A. The equipment specified herein shall comply with the following codes and standards, <br />where applicable. <br />1. Underwriter’s Laboratories, Inc. (UL): <br />a. UL 1598 - Luminaires <br />2. American National Standards Institute (ANSI): <br />a. ANSI C62.41 - Guide for Surge Voltages in Low-Voltage AC Power <br />Circuits <br />3. National Electrical Code (NEC) <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. In accordance with the procedures and requirements set forth in the General Conditions <br />and Section 01300, submittals, the CONTRACTOR shall obtain from the equipment <br />manufacturer and submit the following: <br />1. Shop Drawings <br />2. Operation and Maintenance Manuals <br />3. Spare Parts Lists <br />4. Special Tools List <br />5. LM79 report for each luminaire from a NVLAP accredited photometric laboratory. <br />6. Photometric layouts are required <br /> <br />B. Each submittal shall be identified by the applicable specification section. <br />1.04 SHOP DRAWINGS <br />A. Each submittal shall be complete in all respects, incorporating all information and data <br />listed herein and all additional information required for evaluation of the proposed <br />equipment’s compliance with the Contract Documents.
