RFQ No. 20-10-01 Professional Engineering and Architectural Services for Pedestrian Bridge with Park Elements Across A1A at 174th St. CCNA
City of Sunny Isles Beach
|75
QUALIFICATION INFORMATION & ASSIGNED PERSONNEL
This $235M design-build project includes three new cast-in-place segmental bridges with span lengths of (260’, 360’, 260’) built in balanced cantilever.
This highly aesthetic bridge is designed to blend into the natural surroundings. To minimize impacts to the river and surrounding area, this bridge is
being constructed using a top-down construction method. Because the Wekiva River is designated as an Outstanding Florida Water and a National Wild
and Scenic River, the design-build team is adhering to strict environmental requirements to protect the environment and wildlife in this preserve. This
includes limiting impacts to the river, trees and approach sections and construction of wildlife bridges totaling 23,000 feet in length and maintaining
the recreational value of the river during construction. FINLEY is the Engineer of Record (E.O.R.) and the Construction/Specialty Engineer for these three
cast-in-place segmental bridges. Additionally, FINLEY’s scope of work includes cofferdam, pier table falsework design, end-span falsework design,
and form traveler design review.
Relevance: This on-going project, where FINLEY serves as Engineer of Record for both the design and construction engineering of the 3 CIP segmental
bridges, confirms FINLEY’s experience and capability to deliver outstanding bridge projects within the FDOT’s standards and specifications.
Cost: $235M
F. Additionally, FINLEY provided drawings of the construction sequencing and additional
post-design services. The communication was a great experience and the FINLEY technical director Jerry Pfuntner, PE, SE was
very responsive. Although I know FINLEY is involved in several projects around the country, they were always very responsive in
meeting the needs of the project and the established deadlines.
- Alfredo Rodriguez, PE Project Manager
E
