Our Team will
undertake master planning and public involvement, initiated upon NTP, to coordinate the design approach and facilitate an effective
public communications plan. The Project Bridge Development Planning phase will be completed in compliance with all applicable
federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. From the very beginning of the project, an open and collaborative planning
process will enable the team to creatively work in partnership with the public and regional and local agencies to help identify and
address the area’s needs and any potential complications and conflicts early in the design process. The EAC Team will evaluate and
propose viable design alternatives for the proposed pedestrian bridge concept, and develop a cost feasible sustainable concept
that meets the City’s vision. We will perform an engineering and architectural design analysis that considers structural integrity
and safety, resiliency, maintainability and life cycle costs, constructability and MOT, other costs, and aesthetics. We will assess
the environmental impacts and consider public and stakeholder concerns.
Design Development
and 30% Plans Task 3
An integrated approach of engineering and architectural concepts will ensure that overall, the project will successfully balance the
function of the proposed pedestrian bridge park within the area and the needs of the community. Based on the selection of a
Preferred Alternative, the EAC Team will develop a preliminary project design that will provide safe pedestrian and bicycle access over
Collins Avenue at 174th Street. In this task the EAC Team will submit a complete set of 30% plans to the City of Sunny Isles Beach
staff for review and comment.
The EAC Team will meet with the City of Sunny Isles Beach staff and discuss the 30% submittal review comments for further design
development to be incorporated in the 60% design phase.
