L01 <br />The use of groundcovers plants <br />PEDELTA <br />A groundcover vegetation system will be designed to improve landscaping and the aesthetic appearance of <br />the bridge. Round raised beds will be located along the north side edge of the bridge according to the design <br />solutions. Drought tolerant plants will be selected, including heat -loving plants. Groundcovers are low-level <br />understory plants, typically grow to less than 2' tall and can be maintained at that height. A correct selection <br />of essence will be done to reduce landscaping maintenance costs. <br />Shading the ocean vista Amphitheater <br />The amphitheater design and the Ocean vista will provide shading refreshing seating <br />areas. Due to subtropical Florida, climate shading can consistently prolong time <br />outdoors. Pedelta design proposal will comprise shading structures to permit <br />comfortable seating even during sunny hours. Winged profile shading structures will <br />be placed to protect the seating from direct sun radiation ensuring ocean breeze <br />circulation throughout the amphitheater area, providing sheltering in the occurrence <br />of rainfall. T e - <br />Curved shape structures will be properly designed to be transparent to wind gusts <br />during hurricane season also allowing the removal of wind -resistant parts in the case <br />of extreme weather events. <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />Request for Qualifications No. 20-10-01 <br />-9- <br />
