COM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE CPZ Architects, Inc. was selected to provide design, permitting, planning, engineering and construction administration services for a new facility to consolidate Port Everglades Facilities Maintenance and Operations from the current functions that are located within various buildings throughout the Port Everglades campus into a central location. The Project is intended to take place in three phases. The first phase was the programming phase. The second phase will be the design and preparation of construction documents and permitting phase. The third phase will be the construction of the facility. CPZ Architects provided full architectural design services for Glades Park which included a 9,000 sf Community Center. CPZ had the pleasure of working with the City of Doral on their brand new $10.5 million Glades Park & Nature Center Building project. The Nature Center’s tall glass walls were oriented to the North to maximize daylight use with less heat gain. Other architectural features include a large dedicated vaulted ceiling nature exhibit room, large, vaulted ceiling multipurpose room with moveable wall partitions., catering room, science lab classroom for children, e-library, vaulted ceiling lobby area, projection room, remotely controlled lighting and VRF air conditioning systems and outdoor Amphitheatre with its stage edging the 12-acre Lake. Doral Glades Park took Honorable Mention at the 2019 Fort Lauderdale Chapter American Institute of Architecture Design Awards. This Facility is Green Globes certified (2 Globes). Harden and renovated the existing three story 45,000 square foot Coral Springs Police Station and add a new 11,500 square foot two story addition for Fire Administration and Emergency Operation Center. CPZ worked closed with Larry DeRose formerly with DeRose Design Consultants which included new impact resistant windows and doors, new roof and any structural repairs that needed to bring the building up to current code. The City of Coral Springs decided to renovate the interior of the Police Station building with the extra 4 million left over from the budget. Interior renovations include new HVAC, new fire sprinklers, new finishes, new paint, new lighting, and reconfiguration of spaces to meet the police department’s needs. Full re-configuration of their existing seven-acre secure site. Site work included state of the art security gating and monitoring systems, re- configuration of parking areas, full landscape work and the creation of attractive and functional exterior gathering spaces to add to the planned spaces to add to the planned new City Corridor along Sample Road and Coral Springs Drive. Construction cost during bidding estimated at 12 million bids came in at 8 million.
