<br />CPZ Architects was retained to renovate an existing building for their new vehicle maintenance building for the City of Coral Springs. The renovation of the existing vehicle maintenance building includes the following: Demolition of existing Westside Vehicle Maintenance Building (Metal Building). This site is planned for a future parking garage equipped with a car wash. (4150 NW 120th Avenue) The proposed building will be designed to serve as the new Westside Vehicle Maintenance Facility. The proposed 72,394 SF building will be designed to house Fire Administration, Fleet, Central Stores, City Clerk Storage, and HR Storage.• Fleet: The proposed new 30,552 SF, 2-story Fleet area includes offices forfuture Fleet employees, restrooms, reception area, lobby, storage rooms,conference room, copy rooms, and break room. This area also includes a garagearea and is equipped with (8) car bays, small engine repair bay, (3) Fire TruckBays, EMS Truck Bay, Motorcycle Bay, Alignment Bay, parts storage, offices,media rooms, break room, storage rooms, and locker rooms. The primaryfunction of this portion of the building is for Fleet vehicle repair garage andFleet Administration.

<br />• Central Stores: The proposed new 9,277 SF, 2-story Central Stores area includes open office area for future Central Stores employees,restroom, conference room, Fleet Pick-up Counter, EMS Storage, mezzanine storage, warehouse storage, and loading docks. The primaryfunction of this portion of the building is for the city’s Central Stores.
<br />The existing building and proposed building additions will be designed as an essential facility to withstand 210 mph wind loads. This building will serve as an EOC during a hurricane event. The entire building will be on a 100% emergency back-up generator to run the building for 72 hours continuous during a state of emergency.
<br />The site has been designed to accommodate fire rescue trucks and semi-trucks. A concrete apron will be designed at exterior ends of the Fire truck repair bays. There are also fire truck parking located at NW corner of the site. Parking is provided for visitors and fire administration at East side (Main entrance) of the building, and parking for Fleet and Central Stores are along the west, north and south side of the building and overflow parking. Reconfiguration of handicapped parking at main entrance. A new flag pole area with brick pavers will be added to the building’s main entrance area. The site drainage will be redesigned around the entire site.
