The scope consider the acquisition of ROW, impacts to <br />transit, parks, and the need for MiCE to address reconstruction. Recommended roadway improvements are based on <br />Design Evaluation Study and the Safety and Operational Study dated July 2013: <br />* Replace the pedestrian overpass structure over US-1 <br />* Improve pavement friction to reduce wet pavement <br />* Provide 11-foot for travel lanes <br />* Provide new sidewalks on the east and west sides of SR-5/US-1 <br />* Extend the northbound left-turn storage lane from 160 feet to 300 feet at the intersection of SR-5/US-1 and Ponce de Leon <br />to meet current design standards for left turn lanes <br />* Provide access to the pedestrian overpass along the east side of SR-5/US-1 <br />* Design new horizontal curves to provide greater curve radii and lengths <br />* Coordinate with Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and/or the City of Coral Gables Police Department for additional <br />enforcement in the study area <br />* Relocate all existing utility poles impacted by the new horizontal realignment <br />* Relocate existing Miami Dade transit bus stop on the west side of SR-5/ S.
