No quantity of underground fiber markers was listed. Does the city have a quantity they <br />wish to be provided, or just use industry standards? <br />A31. Limited amount of new conduit is to be installed. The new conduit will be outside of ROW. <br />This project will not require fiber markers. <br /> <br />Q32. Please confirm if the project is tax exempt. <br />A32. The City is able to issue a DPO to secure materials on a tax-exempt basis. <br /> <br />Q33. Is the City planning to revise/update the price sheet with all the additional work <br />required/requested to include qty’s and materials? Or will each bidder have to adjust the price <br />sheet to include each line item not currently included? (Bidders Suggestion) is to have the City <br />add the line items so that each bidder can bid on the same line items and pricing can be compared <br />more equally. <br />A33. Please refer to the Price Sheet, “IMPORTANT: Consultant's Estimated Quantity. <br />Interested Firms: It is your responsibility to review these estimated quantities and revise if <br />needed, based on your professional knowledge of the industry.” <br /> <br />Q34. Under Section 2.1, it states “Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining applicable <br />permits”; and, in Section 2.4 it clearly states “The City will provide copies of approved permits to <br />the Contractor prior to any installation work proceeding.” Can the City confirm the City will <br />procure ALL permits from the drawings provided in the RFP prior to the Contractor prior to <br />starting work? <br />A34. The Contractor must procure ALL permits prior to starting work. <br /> <br />Q35. Given the Davis Bacon Wage Classifications provided in the Bid Documents have “fiber <br />optic” activities classified/listed under “Electricians”, Has the City received an exception from the <br />DOL or the Local Union to seek Communications Classifications and associated rates? Or are all <br />bidders required to utilize the Dade County Electrician Wireman and Splicer Classes shown on <br />Page 18 of Exhibit E -- Substantially increasing our costs of deployment within Dade County? <br />A35. The City is no longer pursing ARPA Federal funding for this procurement. The Federal <br />procurement requirements referenced on page 10 of the RFP and Exhibit E is no longer a <br />requirement to comply with.
