Bore Tech Utilities & Maintenance <br />RFP 22-04-01 <br />and to protect property in connection with the performance of work covered by the <br />contract will be set in place. Barricades and signs will be placed in a manner that will <br />not block the sight of drivers entering roadways or side streets. Any work within the <br />traveled right-of-way that may interrupt normal traffic flow will have a traffic control plan <br />approved by FDOT through its LCIS Q lane closure system, and the County or City <br />public works. All sections of the FDOT Standard Specifications, Traffic Control, and the <br />Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) shall apply. Whenever construction <br />occurs within a developed residential area and/or through a school site, we will take all <br />necessary precautions to protect the public, especially children, from the hazards of <br />open excavations. Trenches shall either be covered or adequately fenced at night and <br />on weekends or whenever operations are not in actual process. <br />Directional Bores I Excavation for Underground Construction <br />Florida Department of Transportation indexes and regulations will be used as well as all <br />applicable codes in force. <br />No construction shall begin without authorization or permit from the authority having <br />jurisdiction. We will follow all state laws pertaining to the Locates rules and regulations. <br />We call 811 at least two business days and not more than 10 business days prior to <br />excavations. Notification can be completed by italicizing one of two methods. Call 811 <br />directly or online at hftps://www.exactix.sunshine8l 1.com. <br />We will utilize sound equipment as needed when completing underground utility <br />excavations and installations. No guess work as to where existing utilities are located. <br />All means necessary shall be utilized to locate existing utilities to include locates, soft <br />dig is feasible, ground penetrating radar and sounding shall be considered to avoid <br />conflicts. <br />All bore pits will be compacted to 95% density in roadways, roadway shoulders, <br />roadway prism and driveways and 85% density in unpaved areas. <br />The standard quantity for the City's Backbone Network shall use existing conduits where <br />applicable. The conduit shall be placed as shown on the construction documents. <br />Existing conduit along the streets shall be used where available. New conduit shall be <br />placed to feed sites specified below. <br />Conduits for directional boring shall be HDPE with a minimum rating of SDR 11 type. <br />Conduit type for open trench shall be PVC with a minimum rating of Schedule 40. New <br />conduits will be installed utilizing Underground Directional Drilling, Trenching and <br />Excavation with Mini excavators and or by hand digging between the locations listed on <br />the design. We will take all precautions avoid and or protect all trees and root by hand <br />digging where possible. All excavation, trench shall meet OSHA standards that are in <br />place at the time of construction <br />P <br />
