38 | CONTINUING SERVICES FOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES | RFQ 22-06-01
Quality Assurance and Quality Control
BA has developed and implemented a thorough and comprehensive Quality Assurance
and Quality Control plan (QA/QC). Quality work is the direct result of careful, properly
sequenced production, and continuous responsible professional checking of each work
element for completion and correctness.
The responsible professionals will perform detailed checks for accuracy, errors, and
omissions before each document phase submittal review. The standard checking
procedure in our Quality Control Manual shall be utilized for production checking. The
project manager and the responsible professionals are to continuously monitor and
coordinate all aspects of the projects and check the work for inclusion of client review
comments and requirements. Furthermore, our team will review all work products
before delivery to the City.
Our QA/QC team is composed of individuals with backgrounds and experiences that
include landscape architecture, architecture, construction management, structural, and
MEP engineering. A diverse QA/QC team will ensure that the projects are reviewed and
checked from multiple points of view to:
• Ensure compliance with program requirements
• Ensure conformance with applicable codes
• Ensure constructability
• Ensure conformance with the construction budget
• Ensure that the long-term operation and maintenance of the project is consistent with the City’s expectations
The following are the principles behind our QA/QC plan:
Keep the BA Team Together for the Duration of the Project
As each project begins, BA mobilizes the entire team, who from day one become familiar with the City’s project goals, objectives,
and criteria. Projects are not passed on from one group to another during their execution. This insures consistent involvement of
the team day one.
Listen to the Client
At the beginning of each project, BA will work with the City to set project goals and expectations and identify key issues. The BA
team then develops conceptual alternative solutions that address the issues and tests each alternative against the goals and
criteria to ensure complete and balanced decisions.
Document the Progress and Decisions Thoroughly
Processes and decisions are documented in detail identifying action items, due dates, and responsible personnel. Accurate
record-keeping and communications avoid misunderstandings and costly backtracking.
Conduct Methodical Plan Checks and Reviews
Reviews are regularly scheduled with pre-published agendas, checkpoints and criteria checks. Any changes are corrected
immediately and checked again. These reviews ensure coordination and accuracy among documents, which in turn provide a sound
basis for reliable cost estimates and quality control.
Doral Central Park, Doral, FL
