Page 35Request for Qualifications # 22-06-01 Continuing Services for Landscape Architectural Services CCNA <br />4.1 Firm Qualifications and Experience <br />knows how to expertly manage municipal projects with <br />very tight budgets and deadlines and we will direct our <br />project Team accordingly in partnership with the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach Project Manager. Our firm utilizes the <br />following tried and true methods for ensuring that our <br />designs remain within the established budget: <br />• First, we uphold the project budget through <br />strict observance of the schedule and our quality <br />assurance program because we know design flaws <br />and delays result in construction cost overruns. <br />• Second, we complete a preliminary construction <br />cost estimate at every submittal to ensure our <br />design is within the cost requirements or to <br />determine whether value engineering alternatives <br />can be incorporated without impacting the <br />purpose set forth by the Project Manager. <br />• Third, changes in scope or design direction will <br />be discussed with the Project Manager to ensure <br />that everyone understands the ramifications of <br />that change on the construction cost budget. This <br />attention to detail in our processes is the core of <br />Miller Legg’s cost control efforts. Constructability <br />reviews and a realistic understanding of the time <br />needed for construction completion help us to <br />guide our clients to detail these constraints in <br />the contract documents. This ensures either that <br />the construction schedule is pragmatic and can <br />be accomplished without incurring acceleration <br />costs, or that these acceleration costs have been <br />anticipated in the cost estimates where the need <br />for expedited construction outweighs the higher <br />costs associated. <br />• Finally, contractor-initiated value engineering <br />options are thoroughly reviewed and discussed <br />with our clients. It is critical to ensure that the quality <br />and functionality of the project is not sacrificed to <br />these requested changes and that consequential <br />changes such as permit modifications are factored <br />into a value engineering proposal to fully assess <br />the benefits and potential pitfalls if the proposal is <br />accepted. <br />Client Satisfaction And Complaint Resolution: Miller <br />Legg’s hands-on project management approach will <br />ensure transparent and regular communication among <br />Team members and the City of Sunny Isles Beach.
