Page 434.2. Qualification of Key Personnel Assigned to Engagement
Request for Qualifications # 22-06-01 Continuing Services for Landscape Architectural Services CCNA

preparation services were provided as
part of this project. As part of a
miscellaneous services contract with the
City, Miller Legg prepared the Florida
Highway Beautification Council Grant
Application and developed Landscape
Improvement Design Documents for
Sample Road. This approximately three-
mile roadway serves as the major east-
west corridor through the City of
Coconut Creek. The grant application
was successful in acquiring $225,000 in
matching funds for the project. Award:
Broward Beautiful Third Place for
Roadway/Swale Beautification, Broward
County, 2004

City of Lauderhill Sports Park -
Miller Legg was retained by the City of
Lauderhill to provide civil engineering
design, stormwater permitting, landscape
architecture, irrigation design,
construction specifications and bidding
assistance services for proposed
amenities improvements at the 12-acre
Lauderhill Sports Park. Replacement of
the baseball field and cricket pitch
natural grass with synthetic turf and the
football scoreboard replacement tasks
have been finalized. Miller Legg has also
completed design of the playground area
wood chip surface conversion to
synthetic turf, playground shade,
modifications to portions of the fitness
trail and the addition of new fitness
stations trail and exercise equipment.

City of Lauderdale Lakes C-13
Western Greenway LAP - This
project is generally described as the
design of an FDOT LAP-funded one-mile
greenway along the southern C-13 canal
bank from SR 7 to the Florida Turnpike.
The Project is part of the overall
Greenway Trail System for Broward
County including two municipalities; the
larger portion of which is in the City of
Lauderdale Lakes, the remaining portion
of which, is in the City of Oakland Park.
The Greenway connects to a pedestrian
bridge linking the proposed Greenway to
an existing City Park, City Hall and the
Park Lakes Elementary School. Services
provided include landscape architecture,
surveying, environmental permitting,
NEPA documentation, SFWMD Canal
ROW permitting, and engineering
services.

City of Pembroke Pines
Streetscape Design Guidelines -
Miller Legg worked on the City of
Pembroke Pines City Wide Streetscape
Master Plan which included the creation
of context sensitive design guidelines for
the roadway corridors throughout the
City including accommodations for
mobility. This Master Plan looked at both
the corridor segment and intersection
component. Corridor segment
components included: median plantings,
‘Side of Road’ (along the right-of-way or
street edge) plantings, street trees and
specialty plantings. Intersection segment
components included: Median nose
treatments, crosswalks, expanded
pedestrian plazas at the corners,
specialty items and icons. Components
also included some specialty ‘Threshold’
Plantings, if there was adequate space.
Residential streets included ‘Family
Ways’. These streets are intra-
neighborhood linkages with
improvements designed to enhance
alternative modes of transportation –
such as walking and biking. The Family
Ways more effectively links residential
communities with schools and parks and
with commercial nodes, too, for
shopping and to promote commerce at a
local level.

City of Pembroke Pines D/B Taft
Street Improvements - Miller Legg
was on the RJ Behar team for this Taft
Street Design Build project for the City
of Pembroke Pines. The firm's scope of
services was landscape architectural
design and post design services and
included the development of design and
contract documents including plans and
specifications. Support during the
construction phase with Requests for
Information and contractor submittals
was also provided.

City of Wilton Manors Public
Complex - The objective of this project
was to develop a sustainable design
through the use of Best Management
Practices, (BMP's) incorporating
xeriscaping principles for irrigation and
landscaping, including the careful
selection of native and adaptive plant
species which are hardy and adaptive to
the South Florida sub-region, require
minimal maintenance after initial plant
establishment, avoid monoculture
planting and would also thrive in the
locations chosen and not require
irrigation in the majority of the
landscaped areas after the first year of
plant establishment. Groundcover,
instead of sod, was also incorporated to
further achieve the long term goal of a
sustainable environment, with regards to
chemical uses and provides for an overall
less intensive landscape for continued
maintenance. Working closely with the
Project Architect, the design team
included the City's newly adopted
Streetscape Design Guidelines and
implemented a harmonious placement of
plants to complement the building’s
architectural features. Special focus was
also given to incorporate shading for the
City Hall Complex Building and in
pedestrianized areas to reduce heat
island effects and increase the energy
efficiency of the future home for the City
of Wilton Manors. Services provided for
this project include development of
conceptual and final landscape
architecture plans, color renderings and
construction phase services.

City of Port St. Lucie US 1
Irrigation and Landscape Design -
Miller Legg is preparing for the City of
Port St. Lucie an update to the firm's
2015 irrigation and landscape design
plans for 3.5 miles of US Highway 1 from
Westmoreland Boulevard to Village
Green Drive. Services comprise
proposed concept and construction
landscape and hardscape improvement
plans including median hardscape design,
shrub, groundcover and tree plantings or
removal, irrigation design and utility
coordination. The plans will be
submitted to FDOT for approval. The
scope includes a presentation of plan
exhibits to the City Council by the firm.

City of Miami River Greenways -
Segment D – As a subconsultant, Miller
Legg was contracted to prepare
landscape architecture design plans for
Segment D of the City of Miami
Riverwalk/Greenway Program along the
Miami River. The project area includes a
four-block (3/10 of a mile) area in
conjunction with roadway improvements
to include an eight foot multi-use
pathway, landscape, hardscape and site
furnishings. The project was partially
funded by the Local Agency Program.
