<br />City of Oakland Park East Dog Park
<br />- To assist with the City of Oakland
<br />Park's plan to develop a 1-acre Dog Park
<br />at the existing Richard Giusti Heart Par
<br />Cours Park, Miller Legg was retained for
<br />topographic and tree surveying, SUE,
<br />engineering and landscape architecture
<br />services as well as an opinion of probable
<br />cost. The firm is providing schematic
<br />designs and renderings to provide off-
<br />street parking along NE 6th Avenue and
<br />NE 36th Street, sidewalk connectivity,
<br />modification to the existing jogging trail,
<br />dog park design for small and large dogs
<br />which includes landscape improvements,
<br />tree additions, canopy shelters, water
<br />stations, pet waste stations, benches and
<br />asphalt walking paths. This project is
<br />being performed under Miller Legg's
<br />continuing services contract.

<br />City of Port St. Lucie US 1
<br />Irrigation and Landscape Design -
<br />Miller Legg is preparing for the City of
<br />Port St. Lucie an update to the firm's
<br />2015 irrigation and landscape design
<br />plans for 3.5 miles of US Highway 1 from
<br />Westmoreland Boulevard to Village
<br />Green Drive. Services comprise
<br />proposed concept and construction
<br />landscape and hardscape improvement
<br />plans including median hardscape design,
<br />shrub, groundcover and tree plantings or
<br />removal, irrigation design and utility
<br />coordination. The plans will be
<br />submitted to FDOT for approval. The
<br />scope includes a presentation of plan
<br />exhibits to the City Council by the firm.
<br />
<br />City of Tamarac Commercial Blvd
<br />Landscaping Improvements - The
<br />City of Tamarac engaged Miller Legg to
<br />provide landscape architectural and
<br />survey services for the existing medians
<br />along 1.70 miles of West Commercial
<br />Blvd in Broward County between North
<br />Pine Island Road and Sawgrass
<br />Expressway. In addition to landscape
<br />architecture, a certified arborist report
<br />and survey (including vacuum
<br />excavations) services, the Miller Legg
<br />team provided lighting and electrical
<br />services, irrigation design, permitting,
<br />and construction administrative services.
<br />Coordination efforts with multiple
<br />agencies, such as the Florida Turnpike
<br />Authority (FTE) and the South Florida
<br />Water Management District (SFWMD),
<br />is included in the project scope. Specific
<br />services for these roadway
<br />improvements entailed providing a
<br />specific purpose survey showing only
<br />above-ground improvements, compiling a
<br />30% conceptual landscape and lighting
<br />plan, and providing 100% construction
<br />documents for irrigation, landscape,
<br />hardscape, lighting and electrical, and an
<br />arborist assessment.

<br />City of Tamarac East Side Parks
<br />Feasibility Study - The Miller Legg
<br />team conducted a needs assessment and
<br />feasibility study to address potential new
<br />recreation facilities in the eastern
<br />portion of the City of Tamarac. The
<br />scope included comprehensive
<br />recreation planning based on research of
<br />existing facilities and programs,
<br />recreation opportunities and a needs
<br />assessment specific to the study area
<br />demographics in order to develop
<br />programming, budget and operational
<br />needs for the proposed improvements.
<br />Community input was gathered via
<br />various survey platforms and City staff
<br />and public workshops scheduled to
<br />refine recreation needs and desires. The
<br />final deliverable was a Feasibility Study
<br />which contained a 10-year capital
<br />improvement plan for the
<br />implementation of the proposed
<br />improvements and acquisitions, an
<br />analysis of funding opportunities and a
<br />narrative report to outline the process
<br />and results.

<br />City of Weston Parks & Recreation
<br />Master Plan - In 2021, the City of
<br />Weston selected Miller Legg to develop
<br />a municipal parks and recreation plan
<br />(PRMP) to incorporate
<br />recommendations for provision of future
<br />facilities programs and services, land
<br />acquisition and development,
<br />maintenance, operations and
<br />management. A master-planned 27-
<br />square-mile community of 68,000
<br />residents in Broward County, Weston
<br />currently has 242 open space and park
<br />acres and 16 existing parks offering a
<br />variety of recreational and athletic
<br />amenities and activities. The Master Plan
<br />will include components including
<br />Department Mission Vision and
<br />Objectives, Community Inventory and
<br />Assessment, Needs Assessment, Level of
<br />Service Standards, Parks and Recreation
<br />Strategic Plan, Recreation Trends
<br />Analysis, Recreation Programming Plan,
<br />ADA Transition Plan, Community
<br />Relations and Marketing Plan,
<br />Community Health and Environmental
<br />Responsibility Plan.

<br />City of Tamarac University Drive
<br />Landscaping Improvements - Miller
<br />Legg is providing landscape architecture,
<br />hardscape, and irrigation design,
<br />permitting, specific purpose survey of the
<br />existing medians, utility coordination,
<br />utility designation, and construction
<br />administrative services for improvements
<br />to the existing system of medians on
<br />University Drive between NW 78th
<br />Street and Southgate Blvd. in the City of
<br />Tamarac. Certified Arborist services may
<br />also be included for tree analysis,
<br />removal and relocation needs.
<br />Coordination with numerous agencies
<br />including FDOT, SFWMD and the City
<br />of Tamarac will also be performed. The
<br />project has received funding from an
<br />FDOT Grant and included creation of
<br />MMOA (Maintenance agreements)
<br />between the City and FDOT. Miller
<br />Legg worked consistently with both the
<br />City of Tamarac and FDOT to meet the
<br />strict deadlines to receive this additional
<br />funding.

<br />Greater Boca Raton Beach and
<br />Parks District Ocean Breeze
<br />Master Plan - Miller Legg was retained
<br />by the Greater Boca Raton Beach and
<br />Parks District (GBRBPD) to prepare a
<br />Master Plan for Ocean Breeze Park, site
<br />of the former Boca Teeca Country Club
<br />and Golf Course. The Master Plan will
<br />reflect the District's desire to provide a
<br />diverse recreational amenity at this 212-
<br />acre property for City residents while
<br />considering the specific desires and
<br />concerns of the adjacent residential
<br />communities. The Plan will address
<br />Ocean Breeze's future facilities, uses,
<br />programs, operation, maintenance and
<br />funding and recommend Park
<br />modifications, improvements,
<br />enhancements and additional uses.
<br />Recreational elements may include
<br />passive park facilities (trails, walking
<br />paths, open fields/areas), golf
<br />course/facilities, active park uses
<br />(playgrounds, tennis courts, sport courts,
<br />aquatics), community center/facilities and
<br />potential revenue-generating
<br />opportunities.
