These streets are intra- <br />neighborhood linkages with <br />improvements designed to enhance <br />alternative modes of transportation – <br />such as walking and biking. The Family <br />Ways more effectively links residential <br />communities with schools and parks and <br />with commercial nodes, too, for <br />shopping and to promote commerce at a <br />local level. <br /> <br />City of Lauderdale Lakes C-13 <br />Western Greenway LAP - This <br />project is generally described as the <br />design of an FDOT LAP-funded one-mile <br />greenway along the southern C-13 canal <br />bank from SR 7 to the Florida Turnpike. <br />The Project is part of the overall <br />Greenway Trail System for Broward <br />County including two municipalities; the <br />larger portion of which is in the City of <br />Lauderdale Lakes, the remaining portion <br />of which, is in the City of Oakland Park. <br />The Greenway connects to a pedestrian <br />bridge linking the proposed Greenway to <br />an existing City Park, City Hall and the <br />Park Lakes Elementary School. Services <br />provided include landscape architecture, <br />surveying, environmental permitting, <br />NEPA documentation, SFWMD Canal <br />ROW permitting, and engineering <br />services. <br /> <br />City of Coconut Creek Copans <br />Road Median Landscape <br />Architecture Plans - For this median <br />improvement project along Copans Road <br />between Lyons Road and the Florida <br />Turnpike Overpass, Miller Legg provided <br />landscape, hardscape and irrigation <br />design plans, tree inventory, surveying, <br />permitting, pre-construction and <br />construction observation services to the <br />City. Tree, streets and highway <br />permitting was coordinated with <br />Broward County. <br /> <br />City of Miramar - Miramar Parkway <br />LAP Streetscape Improvements <br />from 62nd to 64th Avenue - Miramar <br />Parkway Streetscape Improvement <br />project was a Local Agency Program <br />(LAP)-funded revitalization project in the <br />City of Miramar. The project entailed <br />Miramar Parkway's eastern gateway <br />segment from 62nd to 64th Avenue, <br />approximately 1/2 mile in length. The <br />project included intersection <br />improvements, traffic signal <br />modifications/upgrades and sidewalk and <br />Florida Friendly landscape beautification <br />throughout the project limits. Services <br />provided included: surveying including <br />topographic surveying, maintenance of <br />traffic, underground utility designation, <br />landscape architecture, hardscape design, <br />drainage and stormwater permitting, <br />design and management, lighting and <br />electrical design, geotechnical design, <br />traffic engineering, tree permitting and <br />arborist services, as well as LAP <br />coordination, permitting and submittal <br />documentation. Miller Legg developed a <br />master plan for this corridor, <br />incorporating access management and <br />shared commercial parking facilities to <br />enhance the commercial viability of the <br />corridor. Utilizing the master plan, <br />extensive public outreach was conducted <br />with the corridor stakeholder to <br />establish consensus on the <br />redevelopment and roadway plan. <br /> <br />City of Wilton Manors Public <br />Complex - The objective of this project <br />was to develop a sustainable design <br />through the use of Best Management <br />Practices, (BMP's) incorporating <br />xeriscaping principles for irrigation and <br />landscaping, including the careful <br />selection of native and adaptive plant <br />species which are hardy and adaptive to <br />the South Florida sub-region, require <br />minimal maintenance after initial plant <br />establishment, avoid monoculture <br />planting and would also thrive in the <br />locations chosen and not require <br />irrigation in the majority of the <br />landscaped areas after the first year of <br />plant establishment. Groundcover, <br />instead of sod, was also incorporated to <br />further achieve the long term goal of a <br />sustainable environment, with regards to <br />chemical uses and provides for an overall <br />less intensive landscape for continued <br />maintenance. Working closely with the <br />Project Architect, the design team <br />included the City's newly adopted <br />Streetscape Design Guidelines and <br />implemented a harmonious placement of <br />plants to complement the building’s <br />architectural features. Special focus was <br />also given to incorporate shading for the <br />City Hall Complex Building and in <br />pedestrianized areas to reduce heat <br />island effects and increase the energy <br />efficiency of the future home for the City <br />of Wilton Manors. Services provided for <br />this project include development of <br />conceptual and final landscape <br />architecture plans, color renderings and <br />construction phase services. <br /> <br />Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center <br />- The City of Palm Beach Gardens <br />planned for a new clubhouse at its <br />Tennis Center, a premier community <br />public 18-court tennis facility and <br />recipient of a 2014 US Tennis <br />Association National Outstanding Facility <br />Award. As part of the OLC architecture <br />team, Miller Legg provided civil and <br />landscape architecture design services <br />for the new 12,000 SF building. Miller <br />Legg's scope of services included <br />schematic design, design development, <br />construction document preparation and <br />construction observation phases. <br />Permitting was coordinated through the <br />South Florida Water Management <br />Division, Palm Beach Gardens Fire, <br />Health and Public Works Departments <br />as well as Seacoast Utility Authority. <br /> <br />City of Tamarac University Drive <br />Landscaping Improvements - Miller <br />Legg is providing landscape architecture, <br />hardscape, and irrigation design, <br />permitting, specific purpose survey of the <br />existing medians, utility coordination, <br />utility designation, and construction <br />administrative services for improvements <br />to the existing system of medians on <br />University Drive between NW 78th <br />Street and Southgate Blvd. in the City of <br />Tamarac. Certified Arborist services may <br />also be included for tree analysis, <br />removal and relocation needs. <br />Coordination with numerous agencies <br />including FDOT, SFWMD and the City <br />of Tamarac will also be performed. The <br />project has received funding from an <br />FDOT Grant and included creation of <br />MMOA (Maintenance agreements) <br />between the City and FDOT. Miller <br />Legg worked consistently with both the <br />City of Tamarac and FDOT to meet the <br />strict deadlines to receive this additional <br />funding. <br />
