Page 88Request for Qualifications # 22-06-01 Continuing Services for Landscape Architectural Services CCNA <br />4.3 Project Approach <br />our weekly department meetings, the priority projects <br />for the week are discussed and staffing coordination is <br />planned. <br />FAST TRACK / EXPEDITED BASIS <br />With Miller Legg’s 57 years of municipal experience, our <br />Team has the right ability and approach to handle the <br />various tasks specified on a fast track or expedited basis. <br />The Team has a strong understanding of the potential <br />concerns that may arise during the life of projects <br />under this Contract, and has worked with numerous <br />communities clarifying and effectively implementing and <br />resolving these and other similar issues in the course of <br />our past projects. There will be no learning curve due to <br />Miller Legg’s current and past experience. <br />Miller Legg has recently completed numerous landscape <br />architecture projects on an expedited basis including <br />landscape architecture, hardscape and irrigation design <br />for the City of Miami Beach 20th Street & Sunset Drive <br />Pocket Park, the City of Miami Armbrister Park Community <br />Center, and the City of Tamarac’s Commercial Boulevard <br />landscape, hardscape and irrigation improvement <br />project. <br />The Miller Legg Team has tremendous depth with built in <br />redundancy to handle multiple projects at the same time <br />under this Contract. The Team has had many successes <br />teamed together with public clients within South Florida. <br />We also draw upon statewide and national experience to <br />expedite and perform the specific tasks outlined in the <br />Scope of Services for City of Sunny Isles Beach Landscape <br />Architectural contract as follows: <br />• Provision of signed and sealed drawings and <br />specifications for landscaping construction <br />projects <br />• Develop bid specification for landscape <br />maintenance services <br />• Site master planning, analysis and design <br />• Urban design plans/concept diagrams <br />• Open space planning, analysis and design <br />• Development of design guidelines <br />• Development of Maintenance Standards <br />• Perform landscape maintenance service <br />inspections <br />• Renderings <br />• Beach and Dunescaping <br />• Active and Passive Park Design <br />• Irrigation Design, Operation and Maintenance <br />• Median and Swale Landscaping Design <br />• Streetscape planning, analysis and design <br />• Natural resource planning, analysis and design <br />• Cost estimates <br />• Provide plans developed on AutoCAD’s latest <br />version, and copies of a reproducible hard copy <br />and CD of plans to the City <br />• Feasibility analysis <br />• Peer review analysis <br />• Construction phase services including site <br />inspections <br />• Building Department plan and permit review <br />• Permit assistance <br />• Tree surveys <br />• RER tree removal permitting <br />• Attendance at meetings with City staff and <br />presentations to City Commission <br />• Provide construction administration if requested <br />by the City <br />• Prepare and submit signed and sealed construction <br />drawings <br />COST CONTROL <br />We have several methods for ensuring that our designs <br />remain within the Project Cost Budget that the City <br />establishes. First, we uphold the project budget through <br />strict observance of the project schedule and our quality <br />assurance program because design flaws and delays <br />usually result in construction cost overruns. Second, we <br />complete a preliminary construction cost estimate at <br />every submittal to check if our design is within the cost <br />requirements or if value engineering alternatives can be <br />incorporated without impacting the purpose set forth by <br />the City. Third, changes in scope or design direction will be <br />discussed with you to ensure that everyone understands <br />the ramifications of that change on the construction cost <br />budget. This attention to detail in our processes is the <br />core of Miller Legg’s value engineering efforts. <br />Constructability reviews and an understanding of the <br />time needed for the construction to be completed allow <br />us to guide the City in detailing these constraints in the <br />contract documents.
