Page 90Request for Qualifications # 22-06-01 Continuing Services for Landscape Architectural Services CCNA
4.3 Project Approach
of scheduled deliverable preparation. This is the time
when, if applicable, construction plans are reviewed
for compliance with design standards, Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations, constructability, and
neighborhood concerns.
4. Weekly Project Managers Meetings - Miller Legg has
instituted weekly Project Manager meetings to review,
assess and resolve short-term staffing situations, balance
staff utilization and discuss general project related
activities including invoicing, scheduling and deliverable
issues.
5. Draft Deliverable Scheduling & Review - The draft
deliverable may range from a Certified Arborist
assessment/report to a set of landscape architecture
design plans but should contain all pertinent information
and data to make the deliverable complete. Miller Legg
schedules necessary time to allow stakeholders to have
an opportunity to comment on the deliverable draft.
6. Final Deliverable Scheduling & Review - In some cases,
the deliverable may need to be submitted to the client,
or outside agencies as “draft” for review comments
before the final deliverable is issued. After incorporating
the client’s comments, the final deliverable is issued for
final release.
7. Post Project Debriefing/Project Closeout - After
submitting the final deliverable to the client or the client’s
designated depository, Brian Shore, RLA, as Project
Manager, will schedule a post-project debriefing session
with the project Team. The debriefing session considers
all stages and all aspects of the project, such as:
• Individual and subcontractor performance (if
applicable)
• Technical difficulties and their resolution
• Regulatory and outside interfaces,
• Lessons learned
• Modifications needed
• Budgetary considerations
• Invoicing issues
• Accounts receivable and profit/loss issues
• Scheduling issues
• Most particularly, individual and collective
assessment / evaluation of the project
implementation process and recommendations.
The Project Manager will share the client’s comments with
the Team and seeks to get the client’s final assessment in
writing, as this may be useful in other projects as well
as evaluating the project performance and Team. This
session closes out the project.
Miller Legg works with municipalities and other
governmental agencies on projects for neighborhood
infrastructure improvements and redevelopment
projects, parks and recreational facilities, streetscapes,
roadway and transportation projects, as well as
healthcare, educational and aviation facilities. In
addition, Miller Legg provides plan review services for
traffic improvements as well as landscape architecture
projects for numerous municipalities and the FDOT.
From this experience, the Miller Legg Team works daily
with public officials and stakeholders on a variety of
projects and understands their needs for concise and
timely information.
Understanding that the City of Sunny Isles Beach projects
will reflect multi-use demographics including residential,
retail and commercial, it is essential that public
awareness/outreach begins early in the design phase
and is multi-faceted in its approach to reach all impacted
stakeholders and build relationships and trustworthiness
with the community. Our existing relationships with
Cities, Counties, and other officials locally across South
Florida provide us unique access to key stakeholders,
and knowledge of existing concerns and issues that may
impact the project.
Goals of communication:
1. Actively inform and educate the community about
the projects: process, timeline, expectations, and
how problems can be solved or prevented.
2. Promote the benefits of improvements to the
entire stakeholder community.
PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT
