This was a two - <br />part project consisting of the construction of an emergency vehicle and pedestrian bridge <br />connecting North Bav Road from 174h Street to 172 °d Street; and the second part. the <br />construction of an observation deck in Town Center Park, located at the east end of the <br />canal, and a boardwalk connecting the deck to the North Bay Road bridge. <br />® Milian, Swain K Associates, Inc. (MSA) was hired to conduct environmental assessment <br />and permitting services in support of this bridge installation. The assessment included a <br />wetlands evaluation, mangrove habitat identification, benthic resources inventory, seagrass <br />and bathymetric mapping. <br />MSA's SCUBA divers determined the <br />presence, density and distribution of seagrass, <br />using a combination of Line Intercept and a <br />modified Daubenmirc transect methods. Six,, <br />(6) transects lines were run across the canal. <br />Data was used to measure seagrass in percent <br />cover.
