Services <br />provided include design, permitting <br />modifications through Broward County, <br />South Florida Water Management <br />District, US Army Corps of Engineers, <br />bid documentation, construction <br />administration, environmental <br />monitoring, cost estimates, scheduling, <br />conservation easements, sketch and legal <br />descriptions, construction layout, field <br />modifications, construction management <br />agency coordination, compliance and <br />outreach program to ensure project <br />success. <br />Broward County Parks and <br />Recreation West Lake Park II - <br />Environmental Services - Miller Legg <br />is the prime consultant for the <br />permitting and design of enhancements <br />for the second phase of this 1,500 -acre <br />estuarine wetland. Services provided <br />included: paving and drainage <br />improvements for the nature center and <br />associated parking lot. design of three <br />sewage pump stations, water distribution <br />system design, sanitary sewage collection <br />and transmission system design, off -site <br />force main, traffic engineering, surveying, <br />water quality data analysis, hypothesis <br />development and review, sediment <br />analysis, fishery analysis, rip -rap design, <br />benthic macro - invertebrate <br />identification, seagrass survey, mitigation <br />credit determination, and permitting <br />with the US Army Corps of Engineers, <br />Florida Department of Environmental <br />Protection, South Florida Water <br />Management District. and Broward <br />County Environmental Protection <br />Department The seagrass survey was <br />conducted using scuba diving and digital <br />global positioning satellite equipment and <br />included rransect/quadrant <br />measurements of seagrass density, <br />abundance, and frequency of occurrence. <br />Additional specific services included <br />mangrove trimming oversight, soil <br />disposal coordination and administration, <br />regulated water management <br />environmental creation area e- permit <br />compliance, mangrove wetland <br />construction administration, saltmarsh <br />and tidal upland habitat restoration and <br />planting (over 63,000 plants) review and <br />administration, scientific monitoring for <br />biological habitat function and permit <br />compliance. wetland maintenance review <br />and administration, construction grading <br />and creation of habitat review and <br />administration, rip rap and marine <br />wetland protection construction review <br />and administration, environmental <br />protection / monitoring, protected <br />species (wildlife and plants) observation <br />and compliance / avoidance during <br />construction, seagrass monitoring during <br />construction and SWPP. <br />FDOT D4 SR7 PD &E Study <br />(Individual Experience) - Palm Beach <br />County Aviation Dept. was interested in <br />identifying bird species and habitats used <br />by these animals on its property. A <br />number of incidents where airplanes <br />came in contact with birds sparked <br />interest in identifying problematic <br />species. Mr. Mohler conducted surveys <br />throughout the Palm Beach County <br />property and supplied digital survey data <br />sheets and Geographic Information <br />System maps of documented sightings. <br />Florida Atlantic University (FAU) <br />Habitat Management Plan -The <br />project involved updating the campus - <br />wide Habitat Management Plan (HMP) <br />for the Boca Raton campus of Florida <br />Atlantic University (FAU). The HMP <br />addressed the on -site preserve areas as <br />well as undeveloped parcels that were <br />slated for future development. The main <br />goal of the HMP was to maintain the <br />existing gopher tortoise and burrowing <br />owl populations on campus. The HMP <br />included updating the existing preserve <br />area boundary, revising the management <br />units, updating the habitat maps, updating <br />the gopher tortoise and burrowing owl <br />burrow location maps, including training <br />of staff and contractors, exoticiferal <br />species management, educational signage, <br />and opinion of probable cost. <br />R Mohler. CA <br />Port Everglades Turning Notch <br />Mangrove Wetland Creation - <br />Miller Legg is a subconsultant to <br />Bergeron Land Development for this <br />Port Everglades Turning Notch <br />Mangrove Wedand Creation Project. <br />The firm is providing field support <br />services for environmental and <br />engineering permit compliance. <br />protected species observation, including <br />mangroves and manatees, water quality <br />monitoring, turbidity monitoring, erosion <br />control inspection, plan review and <br />environmental administration and <br />reporting. <br />Florida Department of <br />Transportation District 6 SR <br />25 /Okeechobee Road Landscape <br />Design and Inspections — Miller Legg <br />was hired to prepare landscape planting <br />plans for two segments of this project, <br />conduct field meetings and perform <br />quarterly warranty inspections. <br />Jog Road Environmental Permitting <br />(Individual Experience) Palm Beach <br />County proposed construction of a 1.5 <br />mile long four -lane roadway corridor <br />through wetland habitat. As part of the <br />permitting process, Mr. Mohler <br />completed protected species data <br />collection (field and in- office), impact <br />analysis, and drafted an Endangered <br />Species Biological Assessment. This <br />effort included extensive land use/land <br />cover mapping using ArcView and <br />supplemental grouncitruthing. <br />
