0
Architectural, Landscape Architectural,
Engineering and Land Surveying Firms Only (CCNA)
RFO No. 14 -07 -02
® green building alternatives using the fundamentals of LEED; we currently have more than 25 LEED Accredited Professionals
® (LEED AP) on staff. These landscape architects and other Kimley -Horn professionals can work with you to develop stringent
requirements — technologically, economically, and environmentally, specifically for new commercial construction and major
® renovation; existing building operations and maintenance neighborhood development; and guidelines for multiple buildings and
® on- campus building
® Florida Green Building Coalition
® The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) is a nonprofit Florida Corporation dedicated to improving the built environment. Its
® mission is "to provide a statewide Green Building program with environmental and economic benefits' Our landscape architects
fully subscribe to the FGBC principles and understand their designations. We currently have several projects that have achieved
® FGBC designations or are in the review process. The FGBC awards a `Florida Local Government Designation,° which examines
® the environmental stewardship of the in -house practices, regulations, and education of cities and counties. Our landscape
® architects and planners can help with your green /sustainable projects and related needs regarding FGBC designations.
® Grant Funding
® Obtaining successful funding and the identification of potential funding sources is critical to project implementation. Our team will
work to identify alternative funding and financing strategies within three categories: secured funding sources, anticipated funding
® sources, and potential funding sources. Kimley -Horn has been successful in assisting clients obtain over S34 million in grants and
® funding from numerous sources. Most recently, Kimley -Horn was instrumental in helping the City of North Bay Village obtain more
® than S3.5 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding and State Revolving Loan dollars, to help offset the total
project cost of S4.5 million for a new 16 -inch force main system.
® By identifying sources of funding through the federal government's Urban Mass Transit Act (UMTA), Kimley -Horn was able to
® design to UMTA requirements, thereby helping the City of West Palm Beach obtain a grant for over $300,000. Other grants that
® have been secured are a S100,000 FRDAP Grant for the City of Port St. Lucie and a S1.6 million ISTEA Grant for the City of Miami
® Beach. By identifying sources of funding from the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), Kimley -Horn was able to
help the Village of Royal Palm Beach obtain grants totaling S300,000 for the Anion Exchange Project for the Village's membrane
® softening plant. The firm has also been successful in other funding areas for roadway improvements and other municipal projects.
® Construction Administration inspection
® Our full service consulting includes comprehensive construction administration services with experienced inspection staff. Equally
® important, we are experienced in inspecting all types of construction. You can have peace of mind knowing that you are working
® with individuals who understand the capabilities of all building methods.
® In addition to receiving the benefit of our inspectors' experience during construction observation, our construction phase personnel
® can attend pre- construction conferences and regular project meetings, provide review and approval of pay estimates, and manage
all other activities required to achieve well- coordinated construction of proposed improvements.
® We offer construction -phase services on many of our projects. Our construction phase services include providing a full -time
® or part -time construction observation representative, evaluating equipment delivered as compared to shop drawings, and
® coordinating punch list observations and materials testing.
® Past Performance on Similar Proiects
® Our work for other South Florida municipalities has included all of the disciplines you are requesting for roadway, site -civil and
® stormwater systems, water /wastewater design services, transportation and traffic, and landscape architecture. Most of these
® cited projects are multidisciplinary comprising two or more of the City's requested categories of service. Our services
have also included preparation of plans and specifications, bidding assistance, construction administration, and field observation.
® But more importantly, these projects have demonstrated our ability to assemble an in -house team of professionals from our South
® Florida offices in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and West Palm Beach. Our size, diversity, and depth of staff allows us to pull together
® the right talent and experience to serve our clients effectively on all phases of projects, from planning and community involvement,
coordination with FOOT, coordination with Miami -Dade County and other agencies, through design and construction.
® Kimley )))Horn
SFO 1-0i@
® orzsoozi.i,o s,y ate, c«7w;y aai s.:m 2 -10
